An information processing apparatus performs face detection processing to detect a face area and the orientation of a face from an image captured by an imaging unit, brightness reduction processing in which, when the orientation of the face detected by the face detection processing changes from a first orientation to a second orientation while the screen brightness of a display unit is controlled to a first screen brightness, the screen brightness is reduced from the first screen brightness to a second screen brightness after first time has elapsed, and imaging state determination processing to determine whether an imaging state is a first imaging state where the imaging unit can capture an image in an image brightness capable of detecting the face area or a second imaging state where the imaging unit cannot capture any image in the image brightness capable of detecting the face area.

Information processing apparatus and control method

An information processing apparatus performs face detection processing to detect a face area with a face captured therein from an image captured by an imaging unit, brightness reduction processing in which, when the face area is no longer detected from a state where the face area is detected by the face detection processing while the screen brightness of a display unit is controlled to a first screen brightness, the screen brightness is reduced from the first screen brightness to a second screen brightness after first time has elapsed, and imaging state determination processing to determine whether an imaging state is a first imaging state where the imaging unit can capture an image in an image brightness capable of detecting the face area or a second imaging state where the imaging unit cannot capture any image in the image brightness capable of detecting the face area.

An electronic apparatus includes: a memory which temporarily stores a program of a system; a first processor which executes the program to implement functions of the system; a second processor which detects a face area with a face captured therein from an image captured by an imaging unit; and a third processor which switches between and executes first processing in which, when the face area is detected by the second processor, first information is output, while when the face area is not detected, second information is output, and second processing to output the first information despite detection of the face area by the second processor. When there is no operation input by a user over a certain period of time, the first processor restricts use of at least some of the functions of the system.

Electronic apparatus and control method

An electronic apparatus includes: a detector that detects an object present within a predetermined detection range; and an embedded controller that based on a detection result by the detector determines that the object has left the electronic apparatus when the object is no longer detected within a first detection range of the predetermined detection range after the object has previously been detected within the first detection range, and determines that the object has approached the electronic apparatus after the object is detected within a second detection range in the predetermined detection range wider than the first detection range when no objects were previously detected within the predetermined detection range. While the object determined to have left is detected within the second detection range, the embedded controller determines that the object has re-approached based on a detection position of the object moving toward the first detection range.

An electronic apparatus includes: a processing unit; a detection sensor which detects the motion from an object within a detection range defined by predetermined detection angle of view and detection distance, and outputs a detection signal; a first detection control unit which outputs first information based on a detection signal corresponding to a first detection angle of view; and a second detection control unit which sets a second detection angle of view different from the first detection angle of view, acquires second information based on a detection signal corresponding to the second detection angle of view, and outputs the second information to the processing unit, wherein the processing unit sets respective detection distances of the first information and the second information to a first detection distance and a second detection distance to make conditions related to the detection distance different between the first information and the second information.
