A composition and method for treating a fracturing fluid comprising produced water with high levels of dissolved solids using a polymer crosslinked with a boron compound and a high pH alkylamine buffer. The composition improves the viscosity stability of the fracturing fluid at elevated bottom-hole temperatures, particularly when the fluid has high levels of calcium and magnesium. The composition is particularly useful with polysaccharides, including galactomannan gums, such as guar gum, locust bean gum, and karaya gum, and allows for the use of the preferred boron compound crosslinkers in high total dissolved solids fracturing fluids without the pH destabilization problems encountered with the prior art.

Produced water borate crosslinking compositions and method of use

A cement mix for cementing the well casing within a wellbore which contains a synergistic blend of an alkali metasilicate and/or alkali silicate, aluminum silicate and either silica fume or micro silica quartz along with a Portland cement. The cement mix, when combined with mix water, may render a cementitious slurry having a density less than or equal to 11.5 pounds per gallon (ppg); the amount of mix water in the cementitious slurry being between from about 200 to about 560 percent by weight of cement (BWOC). The compressive strength of such cementitious slurries, when cured, is in excess of 100 psi, more typically in excess of 200 psi, after 72 hours at 130&#xb0; F.

Method of cementing within a gas or oil well

A treatment for wells and/or subterranean formations in which a pre-treatment fluid is introduced prior to a polymer-containing treatment fluid, such as a hydraulic fracturing fluid. The pre-treatment fluid may contain an enzyme and/or oxidative breaker effective to degrade the polymer in the polymer-containing treatment fluid. The enzyme or oxidative breaker of the enzyme pre-treatment fluid enhance degradation of polymer filter cake from the reservoir-side of the filter cake during flow-back of the treatment fluid.

Pre-treatment methods for polymer-containing fluids

A crosslinked acid gel comprising an emulsion polymer and an external activator is provided. Methods for acid fracturing subterranean formations using the crosslinked acid gel are also provided.
