An injection valve for injecting fuel comprises a valve housing () inside of which a drive unit () controls the movement of a valve needle () that is pretensioned by a spring (). The injection valve also comprises a main chamber (), which is provided inside the valve housing, is filled with fuel and accommodates the valve needle (), and comprises a hydraulic bearing for the drive unit (). The hydraulic bearing has a hydraulic chamber () that is connected to the main chamber (), whereby fuel serves as the operating substance of the hydraulic bearing.

Injection valve

An actuator () is connected, on one side, to a valve needle (), and on the opposite side, to a hydraulic piston () pertaining to a hydraulic length compensator. A working chamber () is divided by a tight separating membrane (), into an actuator chamber () containing the actuator () and a fluid chamber () which can be filled with the fluid to be dosed in a pressurized manner while the actuator chamber () and the hydraulic chamber () are filled with a hydraulic fluid. A base pressure can be produced in the hydraulic fluid by means of the pressure of the fluid to be dosed, which is transmitted through the separating membrane ().

Dosing device for fluids, especially a motor vehicle injection valve

A dosing device comprises a housing () provided with an actuator, a dosing opening (), a guiding shaft () which surrounds part of the valve needle () and forms a valve chamber () with the same, and a fluid chamber module () which is welded to the housing () in the form of a duct for guiding the valve needle () into the housing (). The fluid chamber module () and the housing () are assembled along a separation surface () which is subjected to pressure by the dosing liquid and is formed almost only by axial cylinder wall surface parts () in order to reduce the pressure load on the weld seam ().

A fluid dosing device for a pressurized liquid is disclosed, which comprises a chamber () which is supplied with pressurized liquid by means of a liquid supply line (); a valve needle () which is guided through the chamber (), the first end section of said valve needle being able to be lifted and the second end section thereof forming a valve in conjunction with a valve seat disposed on the housing (). Metal bellows () are provided as a leadthrough element for the first end section of the valve needle (). The metal bellows seal the chamber in said region in a tight manner. A throttle point () is provided between the valve needle () and the inner wall of the chamber between the metal bellows () and the mouth () of the liquid supply line () leading into the chamber.

A converter mounting comprises a memory coil inductance (), a memory primary capacitor () mounted upstream of said coil inductance, and a memory secondary capacitor (), in particular, a piezoelectric actuator, mounted downstream of said coil inductance. Through control of a primary circuit element () and of a secondary circuit element (), the energy of the memory primary capacitor () can be transferred to the memory secondary capacitor () and recovered.

Converter circuit

A fuel injector comprises a body having a longitudinal axis, a length-changing solid state actuator that has first and second ends, a closure member coupled to the first end of the solid state actuator, and a compensator assembly coupled the second end of the solid state actuator. The solid state actuator includes a plurality of solid state elements along the axis between the first and second ends. The closure member is movable between a first configuration permitting fuel injection and a second configuration preventing fuel injection. And the compensator assembly axially positions the solid state actuator with respect to the body in response to temperature variation. The compensator assembly utilizes a configuration of at least one spring disposed between two pistons so as to reduce the use of elastomer seals to thereby reduce a slip stick effect. Also, a method of compensating for thermal expansion or contraction of the fuel injector comprises providing fuel from a fuel supply to the fuel injector; and adjusting the solid state actuator with respect to the body in response to temperature variation.

A wobble motor has at least one shaft guided in a rotatably and axially displaceable fashion, and at least one drive ring which surrounds the shaft and can be tilted with respect to a longitudinal axis of the shaft. The at least one guide ring can be displaced in a frictionally locked fashion and free from rotation.
