A polypropylene composition for injection-molded drainage systems comprising 78-84 wt % of a crystalline propylene polymer, 8 to less than 13 wt % of an elastomeric copolymer and 8 to less than 13 wt % of polyethylene. The said composition exhibits a flexural modulus value higher than 1400 MPa, a melt flow rate (MFR), determined according to ISO method 1133 (230&#xb0; C. and 2.16 kg), of from 1.5 to 5.0 g/10 min, and a value of Izod impact resistance at 0&#xb0; C. of more than 6 kJ/maccording to ISO method 180/1A.

Polyolefinic compositions for injection-moulded drainage systems

Articles, particularly pressure pipes, having high strength as well as high stiffness and very good impact resistance even at low temperatures can be obtained by using a heterophasic polyolefin composition comprising (percent by weight) 70-90% of a random copolymer of propylene with 0.5-6% of 1-hexene, and 10-30% of a polymer of ethylene with a C-C&#x3b1;-olefin and optionally a diene, wherein the polymer of ethylene has an ethylene content higher than 45% and an intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] value from 3 to 5 dl/g. A particular advantage of the present invention is that articles comprising the above heterophasic polyolefin composition show a low ductile to brittle transition temperature (DBTT).

Pipe systems having at least one layer comprising a semi-crystalline random polymer of propylene and 0.2 to 5 wt % 1-hexen and optionally a recurring unit selected from ethylene and a C-C&#x3b1;-olefin in an amount from more than 0 to 9% by moles. The polymer exhibits broad molecular weight distribution, in terms of the ratio of weight average molecular weight to numeric average molecular weight formula (I), ranging from 5 to 11, molecular weight distribution of monomodal type and hexen-1 content in the fraction with an intrinsic viscosity of equal to or higher than 3.3 dl/g lower than the hexen-1 content in the fraction with an intrinsic viscosity of less than 3.3 dl/g.(w/n) &#x2003;&#x2003;(I)

Pipe systems made from random copolymers of propylene and &#x3b1;-olefins

A process for the preparation of a propylene copolymer composition having a Flexural modulus lower than 500 MPa, a total ethylene content higher than 9% and a Xylene soluble fraction at room temperature higher than 20% comprising at least one polymerization step carried out in a gas-phase polymerization reactor comprising at least two interconnected polymerization zones said process being characterized by the fact that at least 30% by weight of said xylene soluble fraction is produced in the polymerization step carried out in a gas-phase polymerization reactor comprising at least two interconnected polymerization zones.

Process for the preparation of soft propylene polymer compositions

A fiber for thermal bonding comprising semicrystalline random copolymers of propylene, 1-hexene and optionally another &#x3b1;-olefin, the amount of 1-hexene being from 0.75 to less 1.52 mol % (i.e. 1.5 to less than 3 wt %) with respect to the total weight of the copolymer. The said copolymers possess a value of melt flow rate (MFR) ranging from 4 to 35 g/10 min and a molecular weight distribution, in terms of the ratio between weight average molecular weight and numeric average molecular weight (/), ranging from 4 to 12.

Multilayer heat-shrinkable films in which the skin layers A consist of a polyolefin selected from: A1) a composition containing 25-45% b.w. of a random copolymer of propylene with ethylene and 55-75% b.w. of a random terpolymer of propylene, ethylene and one or more C -C alpha-olefins; and A2) random copolymer(s) of propylene and one or more C -C alpha-olefins. Semicrystalline polyolefin composition comprising copolymers a), b) and c) of prolylene with at least one comonomer selected from C -C &agr;-olefins, where the total content of recurring units from the said comonomer, referred to the composition, is equal to or higher than 6% and teh respective percentages representing the content of said recurring units in each one of the copolymers a), b) and c) are different from each other, said difference being of at least 1 unit.

Compositions of random copolymers of propene containing an &agr;-olefin as comonomer

Cast laminates produced from highly crystalline propylene polymers having a MFR ranging from 5 to 15 g/10 min, a ratio between the weight average molecular weight and the number average molecular weight ranging from 4.5 to 9, a density equal to or greater than 0.9020 g/cm , and solubility in xylene at ambient temperature not greater than 2.5% by weight.

Propylene polymers suitable for transparent cast film

Multi-layer heat-shrinkable films in which at least one layer (A) is based on a polyolefin composition comprising a propylene copolymer and having particular crystallinity characteristics, and at least one layer (B) comprises a linear compolymer of ethylene with one or more .alpha.-olefins (LLDPE). The films are characterized by an optimum balance of physicomechanical properties, processability and sealability at low temperatures.
