Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration for a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set that includes a first SRS resource associated with a first SRS resource indicator (SRI) and a first antenna of the UE, and a second SRS resource associated with a second SRI and a second antenna of the UE. The UE may receive first downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a first uplink communication on a first uplink channel, wherein the first DCI indicates the first SRI. The UE may transmit, using the first antenna, the first uplink communication using a transmit power that is based at least in part on a weighted average of a first pathloss associated with the first antenna and a second pathloss associated with the second antenna. Power control for sounding reference signal resource indicator based antenna selection

Aspects described herein relate to configuring and selecting preamble and payload occasions for performing two-step random access procedures. Configurations on preamble occasions, payload occasions, association pattern between the occasions and synchronization signal block (SSB) beams, and the rules for selecting preamble and payload occasions for random access message transmission can be determined by the network and signaled to user equipment (UE). Based on the configurations and rules, UE can measure the link level quality and select possible preamble and payload occasions for one or more SSB beams achieving a threshold signal quality. Sets of one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be further determined based on whether the preamble and payload occasion(s) can achieve a threshold transmission latency. The one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be used to transmit random access messages in the two-step random access procedure.

Techniques for configuring random access occasions in wireless communications

The techniques described herein may provide for sub-slot based physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition (i.e., back-to-back PUSCH repetition within a slot) according to user equipment (UE) capability. A UE may employ uplink data repetition capability reporting for base station scheduling of uplink data repetition and base station management of the number of transport blocks (TBs) that a UE supports (e.g., processes and transmits for uplink) on a per-slot basis. According to the techniques described herein, a UE may indicate whether it supports mini-slot repetition (e.g., for ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC), enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), or both) via an uplink data repetition capability report. The uplink data repetition capability report may further indicate a maximum number of supported repetitions per TB, a number of supported TBs per slot, etc., such that a base station may configure or schedule PUSCH repetition based on the UE's reported capability.

Capability signaling for physical uplink shared channel repetition

A UE may determine a number of antenna ports associated with a frequency band that includes one or more CCs. The determined number of antenna ports may be based on a plurality of UL Tx chains for the one or more CCs/frequency band. The UE may switch from a first UL Tx chain to a second UL Tx chain, at least one of which may be associated with the one or more CCs/frequency band. The number of antenna ports may correspond to a maximum number of antenna ports of an individual CC of the one or more CCs, or to a sum of antenna ports of the one or more CCs. For the latter, the number of antenna ports may be limited to an available number of UE antenna ports when the sum of antenna ports is greater than the available number of UE antenna ports.

Antenna ports determination of UL TX switching

Wireless communications systems and methods related to the timing arrangements and the transmission gap configurations in 2-step random access channel (RACH) procedures to improve system latency and reliability of a RACH HARQ process are provided. The UE transmits a first message including a random access preamble and a payload, and then monitors for a second message in response to the first message during a random access response (RAR) window. In response to determining that no second message is received by the UE from the BS or a back off indicator is received within the RAR window, the UE re-transmits the preamble and payload of the first message after the RAR window lapses. In response to determining if the second message received within the RAR window carries a FallbackRAR or SuccessRAR, the UE then determines to re-transmit the payload of the first message based on the FallbackRAR, or to transmit an acknowledgement message based on the SuccessRAR.

Systems and methods for latency reduction for 2-step random access channel (RACH) hybrid automatic repeat requests (HARQ)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit assistance information to a base station to request an update or a modification to one or more communication parameters configured at the UE. Such communication parameters may include a quantity of uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layers, a quantity of downlink MIMO layers, a minimum scheduling offset, a maximum quantity of component carriers, or a maximum aggregated bandwidth for a secondary cell group (SCG). In some implementations, the UE may transmit the assistance information requesting the update or modification to one or more of such communication parameters based on detecting that the UE satisfies one or more triggering conditions or thresholds.

Techniques for providing assistance information for reduced MIMO layers

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determining a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission characteristic, wherein the PUCCH transmission characteristic is a quantity of PUCCH transmissions in a sub-slot or a format of a set of PUCCH transmissions in the sub-slot, and wherein the wireless communication device supports at least one sub-slot hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgement (ACK) codebook; and reporting information identifying the PUCCH characteristic for a plurality of types of symbol codebooks. Physical uplink control channel transmission for low latency communication deployments

Aspects in a wireless network are disclosed. A user equipment (UE) may report, to a base station, a capability of the UE to simultaneously transmit sounding reference signal (SRS) resources between component carriers (CCs) in carrier aggregation (CA) across at least one frequency band using a specified arrangement of antenna ports and antennas. The UE may receive, from the base station, a configuration to simultaneously transmit the SRS resources using antenna switching for the CCs across the at least one frequency band and the specified arrangement of antenna ports and antennas. The UE may transmit the SRS resources simultaneously between at least two of the plurality of CCs in the at least one frequency band using the received configuration. Among other benefits, this dynamic allocation of resources enables the UE to perform at a level commensurate with its intrinsic capabilities, increasing network efficiency and speed.

Switching configuration for simultaneous intra and inter-band SRS transmissions

A user equipment (UE) may make a joint decision of adaptive receive diversity (ARD) and adaptive transmit diversity (ATD) configurations, including transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) antennas selection and/or blanking based on downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) traffic conditions. The UE may disable at least one Tx chain for a transmission of a codebook-based sounding reference signal (SRS) (SRS-CB) based on one or more of at least one DL traffic condition or at least one UL traffic condition, and transmit, to a base station, upon disabling the at least one Tx chain, the SRS-CB via an antenna associated with at least one active Tx chain.

SRS management for adaptive TX/RX diversity

A UE may calculate an allocation of a transmission power for a first uplink transmission on a first uplink channel and at least one second uplink transmission on at least one second uplink channel, the transmission power being allocated in each symbol of a plurality of symbols in a slot. The UE may detect a transmission power change in the allocation of the transmission power in the slot for at least one of the first uplink transmission or the at least one second uplink transmission. The UE may determine whether to adjust the allocation of the transmission power for the at least one of the first uplink transmission or the at least one second uplink transmission to eliminate the transmission power change in the slot for the at least one of the first uplink transmission or the at least one second uplink transmission.

Enhanced uplink power control with lookahead

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) receiving a first transmission scheduling resources for a second transmission having a first priority. The UE may determine that one or more symbols of the second transmission are to be unused due to receipt of a cancellation indication or due to identifying a conflict, for example, with higher priority resources. Based on determining that the symbols are to be unused, the UE may determine that the base station will not reschedule the unused resources for another transmission, for example, having the first priority. The UE and the base station may communicate based on the determination.

Scheduling restrictions for canceled or conflicting resources

Techniques for handling collision in scheduled wireless communications

In some aspects, a user equipment may receive configuration information that indicates a transmission parameter associated with a random access response (RAR) type; transmit a random access message associated with the RAR type; use the transmission parameter to obtain a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) communication that schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) communication that includes a RAR in a medium access control protocol data unit of the PDSCH communication; and obtain or refraining from obtaining the PDSCH communication based at least in part on whether the PDCCH communication is successfully obtained using the transmission parameter. Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a mobile station may receive an indication of whether a first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) communication is to be punctured in a set of resources in which a second PDSCH communication at least partially overlaps with the first PDSCH communication, or both the first PDSCH communication and the second PDSCH communication are to be transmitted in the set of resources.
