A method for transmitting a model file is provided. The method includes: transmitting, in response to a target sticker triggered by a user, an algorithm acquisition request to a transmission platform of a model file, and receiving a sticker resource packet fed back by the transmission platform of the model file, where the sticker resource packet includes a target algorithm corresponding to a target sticker; determining a target model corresponding to the target algorithm according to a pre-stored correspondence table between algorithms and model files; determining whether a model file of the target model is stored locally; and transmitting a request for downloading the model file of the target model to the transmission platform of the model file, to acquire the model file of the target model, if it is determined that the model file of the target model is not stored locally.
