A packaging tube is provided which is substantially gas-tight and has low absorptivity, consisting of a tube of multilayer composite foil with a metallic barrier layer, a prefabricated plastic head piece having a discharge opening and an external thread, and a connecting body which consists of a composite foil containing a metal layer and at least one thermoplastic material layer. The head piece is placed on the connecting body and is welded thereto by means of the plastic layer. The circumferential rim of the tube overlaps the outer rim of the connecting body extending over or under the same, and its plastic layers are softened by the inductive generation of heat in the metal of the composite foil and are welded together while pressure is applied. The head piece has the shape of a cylinder or a truncated cone and is joined at its base area completely to the connecting body. At its lower end, the discharge opening has an enlargement in which at least one annular depression is made, into which plastic material of the connecting body is introduced during softening. The connecting body has a neck which corresponds to the shape of the enlargement and consists of an annular profiled washer or a profiled lid having an integral diaphragm.

Packaging tube

There is provided a packing tube having a gas tight head region. The tube consists of a tube body formed of a multilayered connecting foil having a metallic barrier layer. A prefabricated conical headpiece is provided consisting of synthetic material having a discharge opening and a connecting element disposed thereon. The connecting element consists of a connecting foil including a metallic layer and at least one layer of synthetic material. The peripheral rim of the tubular body overlaps the outer rim of the connecting element either thereabove or therebelow, and wherein the superimposed layers of synthetic material are softened by inductive generation of heat in the metal layers, and welded to one another under pressure. The headpiece consists of two overlapping portions, the lower portion completely covering the underside of the upper portion, the lower portion consisting of a non-permeable material. The outer diameter of the headpiece is smaller than the inner diameter of the tubular body. The outer rim edge formed by the superimposed upper and lower portions of the headpiece is undercut, and forms a portion of the surface of a cone, whose apex lies on the central axis of the tube, and directed oppositely to the discharge opening of the headpiece. For locking the headpiece portions, synthetic material of the connecting foil is overlappingly formed on the undercut outer rim edge of the headpiece overlapping at least the connecting line of the upper and lower parts.

Packing tube

A process for making head pieces for containers with a membrane of laminate having a metallic barrier layer, is designed to make one-piece head pieces, of a thermoplastic material with a mouthpiece neck, a cone-like breast part next to it, a ring-shoulder next to the breast part, a ready-made round plate and a membrane of a laminate with a metallic barrier layer. From a tape of laminate with a metallic barrier layer, using a deep drawing operation, the round plate is produced in a form representative of the outline of the head piece to be produced, is stamped out and is then run down into a mold. At the same time as the lowering the membrane is stamped out of the center part and is kept in position. After this thermoplastic material is placed in the mold and then the membrane is lowered into its last position in the mold and at the same time as the lowering of the membrane pressing of the thermoplastic material in the mold takes place.

Process for making head pieces with a membrane for packaging containers

A die-welding apparatus for connecting a tube body formed of a composite material having a plastic layer and a metallic layer including a die formed of a non-ferrous metal and having a radial slot and a hollow induction coil having one turn electrically conductively connected to the die, but which does not electrically bridge the slot.

Induction welding apparatus for laminated tubes
