A test rig for dynamic test assignments on internal combustion engines is equipped with a preferably electrical drive and/or loading device which is coupled to a control device for adapting and controlling setpoint values for a speed and a torque characteristic. For a test rig of this kind, in order to enable the setpoint values determined by a speed and a torque characteristic to be optimally adapted and controlled for the respective test assignment and so that they can be reproduced on the test rig in the best possible manner, the control device can be adapted in terms of adjusting the weighting of speed control to torque control.

Test rig for dynamic test assignments on internal combustion engines, and method for operating a test rig of this kind

The course of torque transmitted though a driving shaft () between torque generating device () to be tested and a driving or loading mechanism () is determined during an identification phase in the completely constructed test bench with the use of a rotating driving or loading mechanism () at pseudo-stochastic rotational speeds. Determined are thereby parameters describing in a real and current manner the dynamic behavior of the driving shaft () whereby the parameters are used as an influence in further testing.

Method to test a dynamic torque-generating device and a device to determine the dynamic behavior of a driving shaft

In a test bench design consisting at least of an internal combustion engine () having its own sensor technology, actuator technology and control devices, a dynamometric brake (), and a test bench computer () controlling the internal combustion engine () and the dynamometric brake (), whereby the computer () calculates the control variables for the internal combustion engine () and the dynamometric brake () based on set point defaults, the object to operate the internal combustion engine () with the assistance of the dynamometric brake () in the same way as the engine would be operated by the user in a selected vehicle and with the driving profile to be set by the user is achieved by conducting a predefined measurement prior to the actual measurement, which cannot be performed precisely by the user himself, and based on the measurement, parameters of a calculation specification () of set point defaults of the control variables are to be determined under consideration of the characteristics of the test bench and then set on the test bench computer () without changing the parameter setting of the test bench computer () or of the control device of the internal combustion engine.
