An information handling system having an audio switching dongle operatively coupled to first wireless speaker and microphone device, the audio switching dongle further including an audio switching dongle wireless radio system operatively coupled via a first Wi-Fi protocol wireless link to transmit and receive the audio data on an active audio data stream with the first wireless speaker and microphone device and a second, parallel Wi-Fi protocol wireless link with the second wireless speaker and microphone device in standby, the audio switching dongle wireless radio system to receive a switching command from the second wireless speaker and microphone device pursuant to a user switch input from a user, and a controller integrated circuit to activate the second, parallel Wi-Fi protocol wireless link to transmit and receive the audio data of the active audio data stream and to transition the first Wi-Fi protocol wireless link to standby.

System and method for switching system among plural wirelessly coupled input/output devices using a single wireless audio switching dongle

A first wireless speaker and microphone device paired with an information handling system comprising a microphone, speaker, wireless radio system for conducting a first pairing with the information handling system for wireless communications, and memory for storing a pairing profile for the first pairing. A microcontroller to operatively couple the first wireless speaker and microphone device to a second wireless speaker and microphone device by conducting a second pairing between the first and second wireless speaker and microphone devices, and cloning and transmitting the pairing profile from the first pairing to the second wireless speaker and microphone device. The first wireless speaker and microphone device to receive a switching command to stop audio transmission and reception at the first wireless speaker and microphone device to allow transmission and reception at the second wireless speaker and microphone device using a cloned wireless link established with the cloned pairing profile.

System and method for Bluetooth® cloning and switching system among plural paired input/output devices

A headset presents audio sounds with first and second speakers disposed in first and second earcups that fit over first and second of an end user's ears. One ear cup adjusts with a greater travel distance relative to the other earcup so that the headset rests on the end user head with the one earcup raised above an ear and the other on an ear. A position sensor disposed in the headset detects the headset configuration to turn off audio at the speaker of the earcup that is displaced from the ear while increasing volume at the speaker of the earcup that remains over an ear. In addition, when only one ear is covered by an earcup, the audio presentation converts from stereo to monoaural.

An information handling system peripheral camera ensures privacy with a cover that minimizes distance of a camera module to a front opening of the camera housing. For instance, opposing cover members rotate about geared ends that engage to translate rotation between the members, where the members meet over a camera opening to block capture of visual images and move to opposing sides to expose the camera module. In an alternative embodiment, a rotating shutter arrangement selectively covers the camera for security and also covers a microphone to provide security against unauthorized audible access through the camera. A mouse configured to communicatively couple to an information handling system may include an enclosure, a scroll wheel enclosed within the enclosure, with a portion of the scroll wheel extending from the enclosure, the scroll wheel configured to rotate about a first rotational axis, a scroll wheel gear mechanically coupled to the scroll wheel and configured to rotate about the first rotational axis at the same angular velocity as the scroll wheel, and a damping gear assembly. The damping gear assembly may include a damping gear enclosed with the enclosure and configured to rotate about a second rotational axis parallel to the first rotational axis of the scroll wheel and a slider enclosed within the enclosure and exposed through an opening of the enclosure proximate to the portion of the scroll wheel which is exposed through the enclosure, the slider mechanically coupled to the damping gear to enable a user to selectively engage the damping gear to the scroll wheel gear and selectively disengage the damping gear from the scroll wheel gear by interacting with the slider, such that the damping gear inhibits rotation of the scroll wheel when the damping gear is engaged with the scroll wheel gear and such that the scroll wheel rotates freely when the damping gear is disengaged from the scroll wheel gear.
