The invention relates to a system and methods for providing conditional access to indoor location information in a system comprising a mobile device (), a positioning webservice () and an authorization authority (), the method comprising: the mobile device () performing the steps of: transmitting license information to the authorization authority () and transmitting a request for indoor location information to the positioning webservice, the request comprising a request-location-estimate corresponding to a location estimate of the mobile device () at the time of making the request, the authorization authority () performing the steps of: receiving the license information, verifying whether the license information authorizes access to indoor location information by the mobile device (), issuing a secure proof, verifiable by the positioning webservice () upon successful verification, the secure proof indicating that the license information authorizes access to indoor location information by the mobile device () for an authorized region; the positioning webservice () performing the steps of: receiving the request for indoor location information and the secure proof; verifying whether the secure proof authorizes the transmission of indoor location information to the mobile device () for the request-location-estimate; and upon successful verification sending indoor location information for the request-location-estimate to the mobile device ().

Method of detecting a change in a lighting system comprising a plurality of devices each comprising a luminaire and/or a sensor, wherein each respective one of the devices has a respective location recorded in a commissioning database in association with data reported by the respective device; the method comprising: identifying a subset of said devices located within a predetermined spatial demarcation; automatically monitoring a respective value of a characteristic of each of the devices in said subset, thereby forming a data cluster comprising the values of said characteristic for the subset; automatically detecting that one of one of the devices in the subset has been moved by detecting a shift in one of the cluster values relative to the rest of the values in the data cluster; and in response to said detection, automatically outputting an indication that the commissioning database is likely to require updating to reflect said change.

A lamp is provided that is controlled by messages transmitted via a network. The lamp has an internal memory that stores an address and an internal control circuit that responds to received messages that refer to this address. The address is updated when the lamp is installation in a power supply socket, using for example an address from the first message that is transmitted after installation. The lamp contains a detector that detects disconnection of the lamp from the power supply socket, for example by monitoring a resistance value between two parts of one of the power supply terminals of the lamp. In response to this detection the control circuit of the lamp sets information that enables an update of the address in the memory. When it is detected that the lamp is again connected to a power supply socket the address is updated on condition that the update is enabled.

By addition of one or more tamper-resistant proximity check server(s), round-trip time measurements to estimate the distance between the communication devices are performed in order to determine the amount of communication allowed between these devices. The present invention relates to a menu picture generating method and to a recording device for recording a menu picture on a record carrier (), wherein a key frame picture is scaled and then compressed before being assembled by a slice replacement operation. The entire menu picture assembly operation is performed in the compressed picture domain, wherein no pictures need to be decoded and only small part of the menu picture, corresponding to the scaled key frame picture, needs to be encoded. The present invention relates to a power failure recovery mechanism for a recording and reproducing device such as a DVD player, wherein a recording indication information and a recovery pointer information is written in a non-volatile random access memory, while a recovery information is recorded on a record carrier such as a recordable optical disc. At a power-up operation, the recording indication information is used to determine a power failure and the pointer information is used to reproduce the recovery information in case of a determined power failure. Thus, the pointer information indicates the location of incremental recovery data structures on the record carrier, such that a recovery can be achieved after a power failure without requiring a restart of the entire recording.
