Embodiments include methods implemented in a wireless device for reporting of a cell global identifier (CGI) in a wireless network. In one embodiment, a method comprises receiving a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) block from a network node; locating a control resource set (CORESET) configured by the network node through determining a frequency position of the CORESET based on a value received from the network node through radio resource control signaling; and determining and reporting the CGI to the network node based on the located CORESET. In another embodiment, the CORESET is located through testing a set of one or more reference frequency candidates from which a frequency position of the CORESET is determined.

Enhanced cell global identifier reporting

A method for latency control in a communication network is disclosed. The method includes identifying that a service is currently associated with a user device associated with the communication network, wherein a deviation between a latency requirement of the service and an internal latency performance of the communication network is bounded, and dynamically adjusting a configuration of the communication network for the service. In some embodiments, the dynamic adjustment is performed only for user devices associated with services with bounded deviation between the latency requirement of the service and the internal latency performance of the communication network. In some embodiments, dynamically adjusting the configuration of the communication network comprises controlling the communication network to provide latencies below a maximum latency threshold for the service. In some embodiments, the dynamic adjustment of the configuration of the communication network is based on the current traffic load.

A network node determines whether a network condition is met, signals to a communication terminal to apply a first detection method for SS/PBCH block detection when the network condition is determined to be met, signals to the communication terminal to apply a second detection method for SS/PBCH block detection when the network condition is determined as not met, and transmits SS/PBCH blocks according to the first or the second SS/PBCH block detection method, based on whether the network condition is met. The communication terminal receives the signalling from the network node associated with the communication network, determines whether the indicated SS/PBCH block detection method is a first or a second SS/PBCH block detection method based on the received signalling, and applies, based on the determination, the first or the second SS/PBCH block detection method for SS/PBCH block detection.

Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

Network architecture, methods, and devices for a wireless communications network

A multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) scheduling method is disclosed for scheduling transmission from a plurality of transmission instances to a plurality of receivers. The method comprises acquiring, for each pair of a transmission instance and a receiver, a communication quality metric and forming a first group of receivers from the plurality of receivers. The first group of receivers is formed by selecting a first receiver as a first group member and associating a first transmission instance to the first receiver and—when a plurality of communication quality metrics of the first transmission instance and not yet selected receivers fulfill a first criterion for sufficient communication quality—selecting a second receiver from the not yet selected receivers as a second group member and associating a second transmission instance to the second receiver. The communication quality metric of the first transmission instance and the second receiver fulfills the first criterion for sufficient communication quality and indicates a lower communication quality than the highest communication quality among the plurality of communication quality metrics that fulfill the first criterion for sufficient communication quality. The method also comprises forming at least a second group of receivers from the plurality of receivers by repeating the selection steps for receivers not included in the first group of receivers, and scheduling MU-MIMO transmission to the receivers of each group from the corresponding associated transmission instances. Corresponding apparatus, deployment server, and computer program product are also disclosed.

MU-MIMO scheduling

A network-based method allows a network to optimize its control of radio resource usage by directing connected and idle mode User Equipment (UEs) () to another network node, e.g. a neighbor cell, having a better duty cycle, or by configuring the UEs to use another frequency band served by the same network node or a different network node. Signaling its duty cycle budget to the UEs allows the UEs to optimize their idle mode operation by performing cell reselection to a network node which has a better duty cycle budget.

Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes receiving a downlink signal comprising an uplink access configuration index, using the uplink access configuration index to identify an uplink access configuration from among a predetermined plurality of uplink access configurations, and transmitting to the wireless communications network according to the identified uplink access configuration. New signaling is defined from wireless devices () to a wireless communication network, concerning the wireless devices' duty cycle statuses. This allows the network to optimize its control of the radio resource usage. Additionally, embodiments described herein provide new signalling from the network to wireless devices concerning the network's duty cycle status. This allows wireless devices () to optimize their idle mode operation, including decisions whether to request a connection setup or remain in idle mode. Embodiments described and claimed herein provide a set of simple methods for operating a cellular system in a duty cycle controlled radio frequency band.

Duty cycle aware scheduling for wireless networks

Methods, nodes and computer program products control radio channel deployment when using un-licensed carriers in a wireless communication network and control mobility and/or load balancing target selection when using un-licensed carriers. When performed in an access node, unlicensed carrier intrinsic cell channel load is determined in a cell served by the access node based on one or more predetermined channel load indicators and neighbor cell channel load information is obtained, from one or more neighboring access nodes. The neighbor cell channel load information includes unlicensed carrier channel load in respective cells based on the one or more predetermined channel load indicators. At least one channel deployment operation is initiated based on an outcome of one or more comparative operations including the determined unlicensed carrier intrinsic cell channel load and/or the obtained neighbor cell channel load information.

There is disclosed a method of operating a receiving radio node in a wireless communication network, the method comprising receiving signaling on an initial bandwidth part (IBWP) utilising a subcarrier spacing, the subcarrier spacing being based on at least one of a signaling characteristic of received synchronisation signaling and/or information carried in received synchronisation signaling.
