A travelling wave tube amplifier includes: a travelling wave tube comprising a cathode, a helix, an RF input, an RF output, and a plurality of collectors, and an electronic power conditioner providing power supply and electrode polarization to said travelling wave tube, wherein said electronic power conditioner comprises flexibility control means allowing to adjust, via control commands sent through a databus, the helix to cathode voltage and the collector voltages.

A power management system, notably for a dual travelling wave tube amplifier, includes: two travelling wave tubes, each comprising one Anode Zero electrode, and an electronic power conditioner, the power management system being implemented in said electronic power conditioner and including power management means associated with each travelling wave tube, configured for setting the Anode Zero electrode voltage to a determined minimum value when a sleep mode is activated, the power management means maintaining the travelling wave tube operating power at a value below its nominal working range. A sleep mode can advantageously be combined with an RF-Mute mode.

A radiofrequency circuit embedded onboard a satellite, data being transmitted on several channels by radiofrequency signals, includes a channel corresponding to a frequency band, and a succession of gains being able to be associated with a channel so as to generate the radiofrequency signal to be transmitted on the latter. The succession includes at least one variable-gain amplifier, the radiofrequency signals thus generated being multiplexed by a multiplexer composed of bandpass filters. The successions of gains comprise a power load arranged so as to dissipate the power of signals which is reflected by the filters of the multiplexer, said load including means for generating an alarm signal representative of the power level of the reflected signals, the alarm signal being used to control the gain of the variable-gain amplifier.
