A method for controlling an actuator of a terminal unit in a climate control system includes, in a calibration mode: applying a range of drive signals to the actuator; determining a range of terminal unit capacities over the range of drive signals; and generating a model relating the range of terminal unit capacities to the range of drive signals.

Calibration of an actuator

An HVAC system includes an air handling unit (AHU), a heat recovery device, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine an average heating or cooling demand of one or more zones served by the AHU, determine if a heating or cooling capacity is available at the heat recovery device, where the capacity available at the heat recovery device is a heating or cooling capacity to heat or cool the air from an outdoor environment with air extracted from the one or more zones served by the AHU, determine a heat recovery command setpoint based on the determined average heating or cooling demand and the determined available heating or cooling capacity, and send a signal indicative of the determined heat recovery command setpoint to at least one of the AHU and the heat recovery device.

A method for selecting a fluid pressure of a fluid supplied to a plurality of terminal units in a climate control system includes adjusting the fluid pressure over a range over fluid pressures; determining a terminal unit efficiency for each terminal unit over the range of fluid pressures; determining a range of combined terminal unit efficiencies over the range of fluid pressures; identifying a range of bottom terminal unit efficiencies over the range of fluid pressures; and selecting a selected fluid pressure at which (i) a combined terminal unit efficiency is within a first threshold of a combined terminal unit efficiency limit and/or (ii) a bottom terminal unit efficiency is within a second threshold of a bottom terminal unit efficiency limit.

Fluid pressure calibration in climate control system

A control system for an HVAC system having a plurality of HVAC components operably associated with one or more terminal units is provided. The control system includes a coordination module and a controller having a processor and a memory, the controller operably associated with the coordination module and in signal communication with the plurality of HVAC components. The controller is configured to determine an aggregated thermal demand of the HVAC system, determine, with the coordination module, an operational setpoint for at least one HVAC component of the plurality of HVAC components based on the determined aggregated thermal demand, and send a signal indicative of each determined operational setpoint to each associated HVAC component of the plurality of HVAC components.
