A switch arrangement for adjusting different positional parameters of a motor-vehicle seat, such as, for example, inclination of the backrest, inclination and depth of the cushion, inclination of the arm rests, etc, which can be operated in a particularly convenient and intuitively reliable manner. The switch arrangements relate the relative position of different parts of the motor-vehicle seat transversely to the longitudinal direction to the position of the control elements within a control panel. The switch arrangement can particularly advantageously be fitted at the hand-supporting end of an arm rest.

Switch arrangement

An arrangement of operator controls in a vehicle which are arranged in a plurality of operator control arrays in such a way that only one of these operator control arrays is active in an actuation position and it is easily possible to change over between the groups. The operator control arrays are accommodated on a rotatable carrier element in the armrest of a vehicle seat.

Arrangement of operator control elements

Padding for seats, in particular vehicle seats, has a padded body predetermining the contour of the padded surface, which can be changed. In order to adjust the padded surface contour to support the body of a seated person in an individual and orthopaedically correct manner, avoiding hardening of the padded surface which has an adverse effect on the seat comfort, the padded body is composed, at least in subregions, of a plurality of individual padded segments which are arranged next to one another and can be displaced relative to one another in the direction of the normal of the padded surface. Adjusting elements can displace the padded elements individually.

Padding for seats, in particular vehicle seats

A head restraint for a vehicle seat has a holding element which can be inserted into a seat backrest in a manner allowing it to be displaced vertically. A padding support is arranged on the holding element which holds a padded headrest intended for supporting the head. A pivoting device is arranged between the holding element and padding support and is intended for setting the inclination of the padded headrest about a rotational axis orientated transversely to the seat depth. In order to provide a head restraint which is anatomically shaped and can be set in height and inclination in such a manner that in every position it forms a continuation of the contour of the seat occupant's back, the padded headrest has a padded tongue which is pulled out downwards over the padding support for the purpose of supporting the back of the neck. The contour of the front surface of the padded headrest and padded tongue reproduces the profile of the back of the head and back of the neck. The pivoting device is designed so that the rotational axis of the padded headrest lies outside the head-restraint structure and, in all possible vertical settings of the head restraint, always lies on the level backrest surface.

Head restraint for a vehicle seat

A vehicle seat has an upholstery which is integrated in both eat part and in the backrest. A ventilation layer is provided through which air can flow, and an air-permeable upholstery cover spans the surface facing the sitting person, as well as having devices for ventilating the ventilation layer. For improving the sitting climate comfort, which also includes a rapidly effective cooling of the seat surfaces heated by sun radiation when the vehicle is entered and the removal of the transpiration moisture, and also for avoiding disturbing air connection hoses between the vehicle seat and the air-conditioner, the ventilation layer is arranged on an upholstery layer. Devices for ventilating the ventilation layer have a plurality of electrically driven miniature fans integrated in the upholstery layer. One miniature fan respectively is arranged in an air duct penetrating the upholstery layer from the underside to the ventilation layer. The distribution of the air ducts takes place so that a uniform, area-wide ventilation of the ventilation layer is ensured.

An adjustment device for the longitudinal adjustment of a vehicle seat is provided which has two rails which are guided displaceably in the longitudinal direction and of which the bottom rail can be secured non-displaceably and the top rail can be connected to the seat and can be displaced therewith. Also provided is a gear mechanism whose housing is connected to, and can be displaced with, the top rail in the longitudinal direction and penetrates through the top rail into the bottom rail and contains a rotary worm which is in engagement with at least one row of teeth of the bottom rail. The housing of the gear mechanism is isolated from the top rail and, at the base, is seated on the underside of an inner rail position, where the housing part of the gear mechanism is guided on associated longitudinal-guidance surfaces of the first rail.

Adjustment device for the longitudinal adjustment of a vehicle seat

A device for the stepless alteration of the seat depth of a seat cushion of a car seat, has a variable-pressure air cushion which is arranged, on the front side of the seat cushion, between a padded rest and a supporting surface. An extremely high degree of support is achieved if the air cushion is configured approximately in the form of a U and its legs, oriented in the direction of the rear edge of the seat cushion, bear on a side support which terminates towards the front side of the seat cushion and is formed by the extremely dimensionally stable supporting surface.

Seat cushion stepless alteration device

A seat unit can be screwed automatically to the body platform at four fixing points without the need to alter the seat setting during screwing and has a sufficiently rigid connection, in particular a sufficiently firm connection for seat belts which are fixed to the seat, to the body platform. The fixing regions are provided in the floor rail itself, in particular in each case at a distance from the free ends of the latter and in a profile region, extending essentially parallel to the body platform, of the floor rail. These regions are joined directly to a steep wall and, with the latter, in each case form a ramp, and are oriented such that they enclose as small an angle as possible with the floor rail, although this angle is kept sufficiently large that, in an installation setting of the seat unit, the axes of the holes extend in front of the front side of the seat and behind the rear side of the seat with a clearance of a few centimeters, which makes possible the use of a screwdriver unit.

Screw-retained motor-vehicle seat unit

A rear headrest adjusting arrangement in a motor vehicle has a headrest pivot bearing unit that is fixed at the seat and at which two head pad holding devices are disposed that are spaced away from one another in the direction of the pivotal axis. A pivot bearing shaft is provided that has two connecting parts for the holding devices, the connecting parts being spaced away from one another and being connected with the pivot bearing shaft in a torsionally fixed way. A driving motor is provided adjacent to the pivot bearing shaft, the driving motor having a motor shaft that with respect to its axis is parallel to the pivot bearing shaft and having a gearbox that connects the motor shaft with the pivot bearing shaft. This provides the possibility of a motor-driven headrest adjusting arrangement with little installation space for the pivot bearing unit.

Headrest adjusting arrangement, particularly in a motor vehicle

In an adjusting gear in a motor vehicle, especially for a motor-driven seat adjustment mechanism, with an essentially pot-shaped transmission housing in which are supported on a bearing shaft, starting from the pot bottom, a pinion, a planet gear carrier with planet gears, a sun gear meshing with the planet gears as well as a worm gear non-rotatably connected with the sun gear; according to this invention, the end face of the planet gears opposite the pot bottom are provided with at least one orientation surface, the worm gear is also provided on its end face opposite the pot bottom with at least one orientation surface and the end face of the planet gears are each constructed with an abutment surface for the abutment at the worm gear. This enables a facilitated assembly of the adjusting gear, especially with the aid of an assembly robot.

Adjusting gear in motor vehicles

A seat longitudinal adjusting mechanism for a motor vehicle seat with a guide rail unit consisting of two rails enclosing therebetween a hollow space and longitudinally displaceably supported at one another. A toothed rack connected with one rail extends within the hollow space, into which engages a pinion supported in a pinion cassette. The pinion is driven by an adjusting gear. For facilitating the assembly, a preassembly rail extending in the rail longitudinal direction is provided which includes fastening means for fastening the pinion cassette at the preassembly rail, independently of the rails, whereby the length of the preassembly rail is essentially equal to the distance of the pinion cassette from one end of the other rail. The preassembly rail preassembled together with the pinion cassette can then be inserted correspondingly into the other rail.

Seat longitudinal adjusting mechanism

An installation 10 for the longitudinal adjustment of a seat, especially of a motor vehicle seat which includes a top rail 30 supporting the seat, which is form-lockingly longitudinally displaceably guided on a coordinated bottom rail 44. A drive mechanism 12 with drive pinion 24 is connected with one of the two rails; the drive pinion 24 engages into a toothed rack 56 mounted at the other rail 44 and extending along the same. In order to establish with a simple structure an always reliable mutual engagement of the pinion and toothed rack, also in case of high loads caused by accidents, the other rail 44 is provided with a guide groove 98 for at least one guide bolt 92 mounted at the drive mechanism 14 or at the rail 30 within the area of the pinion 24.

Installation for the longitudinal adjustment of a seat

An arrangement for the form-locking guidance of a load supported by a top rail, especially of an electrically longitudinally adjustable motor vehicle seat, along at least one bottom rail, in which the bottom rail includes flanks surrounding a base of the top rail on both sides thereof; ball races are provided at the inner sides of the flanks which cooperate with ball races at the base of the top rail; the base of the top rail is slidingly supported on an upwardly pointing bearing surface of the bottom rail located between the flanks of the bottom rail.

Arrangement for the form-locking guidance of a load supported by a top

An adjusting transmission of a motor vehicle for a motorized seat adjustment with a transmission housing and a worm arranged on a bearing shaft which is supported at the transmission housing in two shaft bearing parts retaining the shaft and inserted into a respective housing aperture on both sides of the worm; at least one of the two shaft bearing parts is thereby tiltably supported within the coordinated housing aperture in at least a plane containing the bearing shaft axis. A self-alignment of the two bearing parts is achieved thereby so that one obtains without large expenditures a transmission operation which is low in friction and freely movable. The bearing part can be constructed as ring with spherical surface which abuts at prism surfaces of the housing aperture as well as of a pressure member.

Adjusting transmission in a motor vehicle

A seat adjustment mechanism especially suited for motor vehicle seats is composed of at least one motor mechanism for adjustably moving a seat member through a drive connection having at least two mutually engaging force transmission parts. In order to avoid rattling of the adjustment mechanism when adjusting movement of the seat is to be effected in a direction where the adjusting movement is abetted by the weight of the seat member itself, a braking device is provided which counteracts the adjusting force of the motor mechanism applied in that direction.
