Provided is a thermal transfer sheet with low hot and cold peeling strengths. Thermal transfer sheet according to the present disclosure includes a substrate and a transfer layer, wherein the transfer layer includes at least a peeling layer, and the peeling layer contains a vinyl resin and at least one of an alcohol alkoxylate and an alcohol having 18 to 80 carbon atoms.

An object of the present invention is to provide an intermediate transfer medium having high durability, as well as high smudge resistance and image stability. The intermediate transfer medium of the present invention includes: a substrate, and a transfer layer including a first intermediate layer, a second intermediate layer and a receiving layer; in which the first intermediate layer contains a (meth)acrylic polyol resin with a glass transition temperature of 80&#xb0; C. or higher; in which the second intermediate layer contains a polyester with a glass transition temperature of 45&#xb0; C. or higher and a filler with a mean particle diameter of 2 &#x3bc;m or more and 5 &#x3bc;m or less; and in which the content of the filler in the second intermediate layer is 0.5% by mass or more and 5% by mass or less.

A thermal transfer sheet and intermediate transfer medium, and a print forming method, capable of forming a thermal transfer image having good transferability when transferring a transfer layer including a receiving layer onto a transfer receiving article, and capable of improving the durability of a print obtained by transferring the transfer layer including the receiving layer, on which the thermal transfer image has been formed, onto a transfer receiving article. The thermal transfer sheet includes a substrate, primer layer and colorant layer, wherein the primer layer contains one or more selected from the group consisting of particles derived from colloidal inorganic particles, polyvinyl alcohol resins, polyvinyl pyrrolidone resins, and polyurethane resins. The intermediate transfer medium includes another substrate, a protective layer, and a receiving layer, wherein the protective layer and the receiving layer are layered in this order on one surface of the another substrate.

Combination of intermediate transfer sheet and thermal transfer medium, and print forming method

A thermal transfer sheet including a primer layer and a peel-off layer provided in this order on a substrate. The primer layer is allowed to contain at least one of: (1) inorganic particles derived from sol-based inorganic particles having a primary particle size of 200 nm or less, (2) scale-like inorganic particles, (3) a polyvinyl pyrrolidone type resin having a glass-transition temperature (Tg) of 60&#xb0; C. or more, (4) a polyester type resin having a glass-transition temperature (Tg) of 60&#xb0; C. or more, (5) a polyurethane type resin having a thermal melting temperature of 100&#xb0; C. or more, (6) a resin formed by curing a thermoplastic resin having a glass-transition temperature (Tg) of 40&#xb0; C. or more, and (7) a resin formed by curing a polyvinyl alcohol type resin.

SOLVING MEANS The main challenge thereof is to provide a transfer sheet that allows printing with a high printing density, which never causes a blur and a crushing of an image. SOLUTION There is provided a transfer sheet comprising a substrate, as well as a releasing layer and a hot melt colored layer in this order on the substrate, the hot melt colored layer comprising, as a binder resin, a (meth)acrylic resin having a glass transition temperature of not less than 75&#xb0; C., and a colorant.

Transfer sheet

A sublimation thermal transfer sheet having first, second, and third dye layers frame sequentially provided on a surface of a substrate in this order, and a back-face layer provided on another surface of the substrate. The first, second, and third dye layers contain an each individual sublimable dye and an each individual binder resin. One of the first and second dye layers further contains a releasing agent selected from a first group consisting of silicone oils, silicone-modified resins and phosphoric esters, and another dye layer further contains either one or both of at least a releasing agent selected from the first group and a cellulosic resin. The third dye layer (1) contains no releasing agent of the first group, or (2) contains the releasing agent at an amount of not more than 0.3% by weight based on the total weight of the solid content of the third dye layer.
