A film is placed over a mold cavity and molten plastic deposited thereon to form a combination of a film with molten plastic thereon. The film-molten plastic combination is then formed in said mold cavity into a molded article in the shape of the mold cavity.

Apparatus for preparing a molded article

A color coated article is formed by applying a color coated material to an injection mold having mold halves, a mold cavity edge and a mold cavity therein for the formation of an injection molded article, and injecting molten plastic into the mold cavity to form a laminated article with the color coated material bonded to the injected plastic. The process uses a color coated blank having a roughened surface, said blank adapted to be placed into at least one mold half and transferring the blank into registry with at least one of the mold halves. The molten plastic is injected against the roughened surface of the blank to enhance bonding of the blank to the injected plastic.

Process for forming a color coated article

A multilayered container and a process for forming the same are disclosed. The container includes a support wall formed from a plastic having an undesirable substance therein and polymerized to a level less than that necessary to prevent the undesirable substance from migrating from the plastic into the contents when the contents are in contact with the support wall. A protective wall is provided adjacent the support wall and adapted to be positioned between the support wall and the contents. The protective wall is formed from a material which limits the migration of undesirable substance from the support wall into the contents.

A process for forming a footed plastic container, comprising the steps of providing a preform having a neck portion with an open top end, an elongated cylindrical body portion with inner and outer walls and a lower end, wherein the lower end includes a plurality of thickened portions; providing a blow mold in the shape of a footed container having an elongated sidewall, wherein the blow mold includes a plurality of separate container foot forming cavities; inserting the preform into the blow mold; placing each of the thickened portions in a predetermined position relative to the foot forming cavities; and stretch blow molding the preform, and displacing material from each of the thickened portions into one of the foot forming cavities to form the plastic container.

The closure assembly includes: a container having an access opening; an inner closure with a rim attached to the container, a central portion covering the access opening, a weakened portion in the central portion, and a separably interlocking portion in the central portion, as a threaded portion; a removable closure covering the inner closure and separably interlocking the inner closure; whereby twisting the removable closure as by threading action on the inner closure breaks the inner closure at the weakened portion and opens the container. A preform, a process for forming the preform and a container formed from the preform are disclosed. The preform comprises a tubular body portion having an open end and a closed end. At a location near the open end, a flange extends outwardly from the tubular body portion. A closure retaining element is provided for engaging a closure. The closure retaining element is formed separately from the tubular body portion and includes a manner for attachment to the tubular body portion. The closure retaining element is attached to the tubular body portion adjacent the flange via the manner for attachment.

A method for producing a partitioned container of the present invention includes the steps of providing a preform having an interior surface; separately forming an inner wall for insertion into the preform; inserting the inner wall into the preform; preparing for molding and molding the preform and inner wall into the partitioned container; and activating a manner for securing the inner wall to the interior surface of the preform during the step of preparing. A system for forming a partitioned container in accordance with the present invention includes a preform including an interior surface surrounding a cavity; an inner wall formed separately from the preform, the inner wall including a manner for securing to the preform upon the application of heat thereto, and a molding device for molding the preform into the container. During preparation for molding of the preform into the container, the preform and inner wall are heated and the manner for securing is activated, thereby securing the inner wall to the interior surface.

A blow molded plastic container and process for obtaining same including a supporting member in the hollow space of the container extending completely across the hollow space and integral with the inside wall face of the body portion of the container at two spaced locations thereof to support the inside wall face. The shape of the container is altered at areas of stress concentration so as to reduce stress at areas of stress concentration and thereby avoid excessive deformation at said areas.

Process for obtaining blow molded plastic containers

A container and closure assembly includes a container including a bottom portion and an encircling wall extending therefrom and defining a body portion. The body portion has an open end with a span equal to or different than the span of the body portion. The assembly also includes a removable cap liner including a seal for sealably engaging the container at its open end in a manner which traps fluids in the container and a removable cap which substantially covers the cap liner and thereby the open end of the container. The cap is adapted for reclosing the container after it is removed from the container.
