The compressor is used for processing a CO2 flow; a first compressor stage has a first row of blades with a first number of blades and a second compressor stage, downstream the first compressor stage, has a second row of blades with a second number of blades; the number of blades of the first compressor stage is less than the number of blades of the second compressor stage; there is an annular gap between the first row of blades and the second row of blades; the first compression stage () is designed so to assure that the CO2 flow is in supercritical condition, preferably close to CO2 critical point, at its outlet, and so that the second compressor stage process CO2 in supercritical condition.

The composite seal structure includes a carrier ring and a seal element housed in an annular groove formed between a circumferential outer wall and two side walls of the carrier ring. The seal element has a first region in surface-to-surface contact with the annular groove and a second, seal-ing region protruding from the annular groove. A fastening arrangement couples the seal element and the carrier ring to one another. Composite seal structure for a machine, and method of manufacturing the composite seal structure

A device configured to seal a circumferential gap between a first turbomachine component and a second turbomachine component mutually rotatable about a longitudinal axis. The device is provided with a first sealing element connected to the first turbomachine component and with a second scaling element having an inner part provided with a plurality of projections extending towards the second machine component to define the teeth of a labyrinth seal between the high pressure region and the low pressure region of the turbo machine. The outer part of the second sealing element is connected to the first sealing element through an clastic element. One or more pressure chambers located between the first sealing element and the second sealing element are in fluid communication with the processing fluid of the turbomachine to derive a force acting on the outer part of the second scaling element in the direction of gap closure.

Labyrinth sealing device

A dry gas seal for sealing the shaft of a turbomachinery, provided with means for the continuous health monitoring of the dry gas seal comprising one or more sensors adapted to measure strains and/or loads induced to the primary ring of the dry gas seal and/or strains induced to one or more of the elastic elements coupled to the primary ring and/or adapted to measure displacements of the primary ring or of an element coupled to the primary ring, for an early detection of failure of the seal, thus enabling main failures early detection capability and proactive maintenance actions.

Dry gas seal

The shaft seal arrangement for a rotating turbomachine shaft having a rotation axis, comprises a rotor part and a stationary part. A dry gas seal is further provided, in combination with a cooling fluid volume arranged for receiving a cooling fluid and in heat exchange relationship with the dry gas seal. A venting arrangement collectively vents exhaust cooling fluid and dry sealing gas from the shaft seal arrangement.

Dry gas seal cooling arrangement and method

A sealing device is described, for separating a first compartment from a second compartment in a turbomachine, a wet gas being processed in the first compartment. The sealing device comprises a rotary component and a stationary component. A sealing member is arranged between the rotary component and the stationary component. The device further comprises an annular wet-particles collector and an oil-jet element, mounted on the rotary component for rotation therewith. The oil-jet element is surrounded by the annular wet-particles collector, such that wet particles contacting the oil-jet element are projected by centrifugal force into the annular wet-particles collector.

A device for sealing a high pressure region in a turbomachine from a low pressure region; the turbomachine has one or more statoric parts and one or more rotoric parts; the device comprises a labyrinth seal having a first plurality of grooves and a second plurality of grooves; the first plurality of grooves is disposed in a helical pattern and the second plurality of grooves is disposed in a cylindrical pattern; the labyrinth seal is disposed between at least one of the one or more rotoric parts of the turbomachine and at least one of the one or more statoric parts of the turbomachine between the high pressure region and the low pressure region of the turbomachine; the helical pattern has a helix angle less than or equal to 10&#xb0;, wherein a stabilization effect of the turbomachine is obtained and leakage due to the second plurality of grooves is negligible.
