A heating device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine and having: a main tubular body, which contains a combustion chamber delimited by a first base wall and by a second base wall, which are opposite one another; a fuel injector configured to inject fuel; an inlet opening, which can be connected to a fan to receive an air flow, which is directed to the combustion chamber and gets mixed with fuel; a secondary tubular body which is arranged inside the main tubular body and inside the combustion chamber and has a side wall, which is arranged at a given distance from the side wall of the main tubular body so as to divide an initial part of the combustion chamber into a central zone, which is located inside the secondary tubular body, and an annular peripheral zone, which is located around the secondary tubular body.

Heating device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine

A heating device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine and having: a tubular body, where a combustion chamber is obtained on the inside; a fuel injector, which is designed to inject fuel into the combustion chamber; at least one inlet opening, which can be connected to a fan so as to receive an air flow, which is directed to the combustion chamber; a feeding channel, which receives air from the inlet opening, surrounds an end portion of the fuel injector and ends with a nozzle, which is arranged around a spray tip of the fuel injector, from which fuel flows out; and a spark plug, which is mounted through a side wall of the tubular body. An axial distance, namely measured along a longitudinal axis of the tubular body, between the spray tip of the fuel injector and a longitudinal axis of the spark plug ranges from 33% to 100% of an inner diameter of the tubular body.

A heating device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine and having: a tubular body, which contains a combustion chamber and is delimited by a first base wall and by a second base wall; a fuel injector, which is mounted through the first base wall; at least one inlet opening, which can be connected to a fan so as to receive an air flow; a feeding channel, which receives air from the inlet opening, surrounds an end portion of the fuel injector and ends with a nozzle arranged around an injection point of the fuel injector; a spark plug, which is mounted through a side wall of the tubular body; and a flame holder body, which is at least partially arranged inside the feeding channel in the area of the nozzle, is coaxial to the feeding channel and to the fuel injector and is in front of the injection point of the fuel injector.

A motor-driven throttle valve for an exhaust duct and having: a tubular duct, which is designed so that exhaust gases can flow through it; a throttle shutter, which is arranged inside the tubular duct and is mounted so as to rotate around a rotation axis; a first shaft, which is mounted so as to rotate around the rotation axis and supports the throttle shutter; an electric actuator, which is provided with a second shaft and is designed to rotate the shaft around the rotation axis; a support bearing, which supports the shaft in a through manner and is arranged on the outside of the tubular duct; and a spring, which applies to the shaft an elastic force, which axially pushes the shaft and, at the same time, is configured to transmit a rotary motion around the rotation axis from the second shaft of the electric actuator to the first shaft supporting the throttle shutter.

The fuel injector is configured to spray at least 80% of the fuel against an inner surface of the feeding channel.

A heating device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine and having: a tubular body, where a combustion chamber is obtained on the inside; a fuel injector, which is designed to inject fuel into the combustion chamber; at least one inlet opening, which can be connected to a fan so as to receive an air flow, which is directed to the combustion chamber; a feeding channel, which receives air from the inlet opening, surrounds an end portion of the fuel injector and ends with a nozzle, which is arranged around an injection point of the fuel injector; and a spark plug, which is mounted through a side wall of the tubular body. The feeding channel is delimited, on the outside, by an outer tubular body. The fuel injector is configured to spray at least part of the fuel against the outer tubular body, which has a through opening, through which a spray tip of the fuel injector letting out the fuel directly aims at the electrodes of the spark plug.

An exhaust gas treatment device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine; the treatment device is provided with: a tubular duct, which is delimited by a first tubular side wall and has a first exhaust gas inlet opening, a first exhaust gas outlet opening, and an injection opening; and a mixing body, which is arranged inside the tubular duct, is hollow on the inside so that the exhaust gases can flow through it, and has a first perforated base wall with a circular shape, which faces the first outlet opening, a second base wall with a partially circular shape, which faces the first inlet opening, and a second tubular side wall, which joins the first base wall to the second base wall and has a second inlet opening leading into the mixing body.
