Site, frequency, and backhaul planning for access points is disclosed where the placement of coverage access points in an urban area requires taking a section of a grid of size 2K by 2K blocks where K is a range of a coverage access point and placing a first coverage access point at a first intersection within the grid wherein the first intersection is defined by a first street and a second street. Removing the first street and the second street from the list and placing a second coverage access point at a second intersection considering the streets in the list. Iterating through the streets in the list until each street has a coverage access point. Further disclosed is frequency planning for the site and backhaul planning for the site.

Method and apparatus for site, frequency, and backhaul planning for access points

A method of performing a soft handoff in a third generation (3G) cellular system comprising the steps of receiving a request for a change in power from a communications device at a plurality of base stations; sending the request from at least one of the base stations to a central processing station; determining at the central processing station a power adjustment ratio for each of the plurality of base stations; and sending one or more control signals from the central processing station to each of the plurality of base stations to adjust the power output of at least one of the plurality of base stations. A communication system for controlling power during a soft handoff in 3G cellular systems comprising a plurality of base stations configured to send and receive signals to a plurality of communication devices; and a central command station configured to send and receive signals to the plurality of base stations, the central command station further configured to communicate power control commands to the plurality of base stations; wherein the power control commands control the output power of at least two base stations in response to one of the communication devices sending a power adjust request.

An apparatus for acoustic percussion of the human and animal body, the apparatus including an oscillator circuit for creating electrical signals for exciting a loudspeaker and producing sound waves; a waveform shaping circuit for shaping the electrical signals created by the oscillator into a waveform; an amplifier circuit for amplifying the signals shaped by the waveform shaper to the level required by the loudspeaker; a loudspeaker for producing sound waves when excited by the electrical signals created by the oscillator and shaped by the waveform shaper; a potentiometer to control the waveform rate created by the waveform shaper; a potentiometer to control the tone produced by the oscillator; and a potentiometer to control the volume of the sound produced by the loudspeaker. A preferred embodiment includes a battery for powering the apparatus, an activating mechanism, and a case or container for packaging the components of the apparatus.
