The invention relates to the use of Real Michael Addition (RMA) crosslinkable composition for the preparation of a floor coating, to special RMA crosslinkable compositions with long working time and very short service time and low VOC and to specific floor compositions, in particular for use in high build floor coating applications.

The present invention relates to a crosslinkable composition comprising a polyol, a polyisocyanate crosslinker, a catalyst for catalysing the reaction between &#x2014;OH groups of said polyol and &#x2014;NCO groups of said crosslinker, a tertiary acid of formula RR'R&#x2033;CCOOH (I), wherein each R, R&#x2032; and R&#x2033; group, independently, is an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl group containing at least one carbon atom, with the proviso that two or three of the R, R&#x2032; and R&#x2033; groups can be linked to form a ring structure and wherein the R, R&#x2032; and/or R&#x2033; groups can be substituted, and optionally, a complexing agent containing at least one &#x2014;SH group, as well as its use for making coatings having improved application properties.

Non-aqueous crosslinkable composition

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a RMA crosslinkable composition comprising at least one crosslinkable component comprising reactive components A and B each comprising at least 2 reactive groups wherein the at least 2 reactive groups of component A are acidic protons C&#x2014;H in activated methylene or methine groups and the at least 2 reactive groups of component B are activated unsaturated groups C&#x2550;C and base catalyst C and one or more N&#x2014;H group containing reactivity moderating component D that are also a Michael addition donor reactable with component B under the action of catalyst C, characterized in that the one or more reactivity moderating components D have a melting temperature above 60&#xb0; C. and is first dissolved in one or more crosslinkable components comprising reactive components A or B and the obtained pre-dissolved product is later mixed with other components of the RMA crosslinkable composition.

Process for the manufacture of a crosslinkable composition

The invention relates to an adhesion promotor for improving adhesion on a substrate surface of an RMA crosslink able composition comprising one or more crosslinkable components comprising a reactive component A with at least two acidic protons C&#x2014;H in activated methylene or methine groups, a reactive component B with at least two activated unsaturated C&#x2550;C groups, a catalyst C for catalyzing the RMA crosslinking reaction between components A and B, said adhesion promotor P comprising a moiety comprising one or more functional groups X or precursors thereof readable with component A or component B and a moiety comprising one or more functional groups Y or precursors thereof that adsorb or react with the substrate surface not being an alkoxysilane group. The invention also relates to a RMA crosslinkable composition, also in the form of a kit of parts, to a premix for use as a part in the kit of parts.

Adhesion promotor for real michael addition crosslinkable compositions

A method for applying a RMA crosslinked coating with improved adhesion, comprising the steps of applying on the substrate surface a layer of a modified epoxy primer comprising an epoxy functional polymer binder and a crosslinker, wherein adhesion of the RMA crosslinked coating to the epoxy primer layer is improved by said primer comprising after curing functional groups X reactable with crosslinkable components of the RMA crosslinkable composition or a precursor of functional groups X, preferably a moisture deblockable precursor. The invention also relates to modified epoxy primers, compositions for improving adhesion of epoxy primers and use thereof to improve adhesion of RMA crosslinkable coatings.
