A nestable and stackable container is provided with the bottom, end walls and side walls fixedly secured to each other to form a unitary structure. The container further comprises a plurality of alternately inwardly and outwardly offset portions on the side walls extending upwardly from the bottom, the inwardly offset portions each having a generally horizontal shoulder defining its upper edge. A stacking shelf is mounted on each side wall for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis extending longitudinally of the side wall at a location below and outwardly of the wall from the shoulder. The stacking shelf is pivotal about the axis, between a stacking position wherein the shelf overlies and projects inwardly of the shoulder, and a nesting position wherein the shelf is inclined upwardly and outwardly of the shoulder. A stacking rail is formed at the bottom of each opposed side wall, with the rail being receivable in a recess formed in the stacking shelf when the shelf is in its stacking position. A generally flat interference surface on the shelf is spaced from and oriented relative to the pivotal axis such that the interference surface yieldably slides across the shoulder of the inwardly offset portion to frictionally resist pivotal movement of the shelf through at least an intermediate portion of its movement between the nesting and stacking positiions. The container further comprises a plurality of bail structures formed in and horizontally spaced along the shelf.

Nestable and stackable container

An open-front, two-level stacking container which may incorporate a tray removable through the open front of a stacked container is provided with a web and slot interlocking arrangement for positively interlocking two stacked containers against front-rear movement relative to each other. Transverse webs in recesses in the stacking feet of one container are received in locking slots in the support shelves of the underlying container and so arranged that the upper container may be slid rearwardly of the lower container to a positively interlocked upper or lower stacked relationship.

Open-front, two-level stacking container

A stackable tray for holding a plurality of pie pans includes four like interconnected side walls and a horizontal platform joined to the side walls approximately midway of the height of the sidewalls. The platform is provided with circular openings each dimensioned to suspend a pie pan within the opening by the engagement of the peripheral flange at the top of the pan with the platform around the periphery of the opening. Centrally located hand hold openings are formed in each side wall and upper and lower stiffening webs extend across the upper and lower surfaces of the platform between the openings.

A closure device with a press release lever is disclosed. The closure device includes an elongated member having a longitudinal axis, a retaining housing at one end, a flexible middle section, and a free end portion at another end. The retaining housing has a first wall connected to the middle section, a second wall opposing the first wall, third and fourth walls opposing each other and formed integrally with the first and second walls. A lever is connected to the first wall for releasably retaining the flexible middle section. The lever includes a middle-section-engaging surface, a press-to-release-actuating end, and is biased against movement in one direction. A passage is formed in the retaining housing for receiving the free end portion and the flexible middle section. Various shapes of the flexible middle section are disclosed for releasably retaining the flexible middle section in an engaged position within the retaining housing in cooperation with the middle-section-engaging surface of the lever. The free end portion has a tapered surface tapering away from the middle section.

Casters are detachably mounted upon the underside of the molded plastic frame of a dolly by the use of a single bolt. The caster is provided with a flat, horizontally disposed mounting plate which underlies and bears against a horizontal surface on the bottom of the frame enclosed within a peripheral sidewall integral with and projecting downwardly from the frame. The mounting plate can be vertically moved into face-to-face engagement with the horizontal surface on the frame when in a first angular orientation and then rotated about a vertical axis to a second angular orientation in which webs on the sidewall spaced below the horizontal surface underlie portions of the plate to retain it against vertical separation from the frame. A single bolt detachably retains the plate against rotation from this last position.

A tote box assembly or the like is made up of molded plastic components wherein complementary interlocking members at each end of each sidewall rigidly interlock the sidewalls in assembled relationship with each other. Coupling legs integrally formed along the bottom edge of each sidewall are detachably snap locked into openings formed along each side of the pallet platform.

A two-level stacking container is formed with a square bottom, a pair of first like sidewalls projecting upwardly from two opposed sides of the bottom and a pair of like second sidewalls projecting upwardly from the two remaining sides of the bottom. The first and second sidewalls are formed with a stacking web having top and bottom edges each having vertically spaced alternating upper and lower edge sections so arranged that when two containers are stacked first walls on first walls and second walls on second walls, the containers are in a high level stacked relationship; and when stacked first walls on second walls and second walls on first walls, the containers are in a low stacked relationship.

Two-level stacking container

A pallet is assembled from two identical pallet halves of a molded plastic material, such as polypropylene. Each pallet half is formed with a rigid, rectangular, load supporting platform having symmetrically disposed rows of support posts and latching leg assemblies projecting vertically from one surface of the platform. The posts and legs are so located and dimensioned that the legs on one pallet half can be inserted into the posts of the other to snap lock the two halves into assembled relationship. Spaced skirt portions along each edge of the platforms engage those of the other pallet half to define forklift tine receiving openings in each side of the pallet.

A three-level stacking container is formed with uniformly spaced openings extending downwardly from the upper edge of each of two opposed sidewalls of the container. The sidewalls take the form of a relatively thin planar web in which the openings are formed and each web is formed with three horizontal, vertically spaced shelves projecting forwardly from the rear edge of each opening. Stacking feet on the outer side of the web may be supported on a selected set of one of the three sets of shelves on an underlying like container, access to the two lower shelves being achieved by passing the feet of the upper container downwardly in the openings forwardly of the shelves. The lowermost of the three shelves constitutes the bottom edge of the opening and the front end of the next uppermost shelf projects forwardly beyond the front end of the uppermost of the three shelves.

Three-level stacking container

A multi-level stacking container is constructed in a manner such that two like containers may be stacked one upon the other in either of a high-level or low-level stacked relationship wherein the end walls of the upper container are respectively stacked upon upper or lower portions of the underlying container or in an intermediate stacked position wherein the side walls of the upper container are parallel to the end walls of the lower container, that is stacked crosswise to each other. This provides the possibility of stacking the container of the present invention with prior art containers of different configuration which utilize the cross-stacking arrangement.

Multilevel stacking container

A collapsible container includes opposed side walls hingedly connected along their upper and lower edges respectively to the bottom of a rectangular peripheral upper rim and to the bottom of the container along opposed side edges of the rim and bottom. End walls are hingedly connected along their upper edges to the rim along its opposed end edges. Webs along the end edges of the side walls and bottom engage the end walls to locate the end walls in their vertical erected position relative to the bottom, and projecting tabs on the end walls are received in mating recesses in the web to maintain the bottom and side walls against flexing when the container is erected. The upper rim is adapted to receive a stacking rail formed on the container bottom to enable stacking of the containers either in their erected or collapsed configuration. The container may include a pair of cover panels hinged along their respective outer side edges to the tops of the side edges of the rim. The end edges of the cover panels are formed with rim receiving grooves on their lower sides which snugly receive the end edges of the rim when the cover panels are closed. The cover panels are formed with a stacking rail receiving recess in their upper surfaces.

Collapsible container

A square nesting and stacking container wherein each wall of the container has a plurality of feet near the bottom of the container and a plurality of saddles near the top of the container. The saddles are located directly above the feet so that the feet will engage the saddles of a similarly oriented container of identical construction and support the same in a stacked relationship. There are clearances between the saddles so that when one container is turned 90.degree. with respect to another, it may be lowered into a nested relationship with the latter without interference because the feet will enter and pass through the clearances of the lower container.
