The technology provides embodiments for recalibration of outward facing cameras supported by a see-through, head mounted, mixed reality display system having a flexible portion between see-through displays for the eyes. Each outward facing camera has a fixed spatial relationship with a respective or corresponding see-through display positioned to be seen through by a respective eye. For front facing cameras, the fixed spatial relationship allows a predetermined mapping between positions on an image sensor of each camera and positions on the respective display. The mapping may be used to register a position of a virtual object to a position of a real object. A change in a first flexible spatial relationship between the outward facing cameras can be automatically detected. A second spatial relationship between the cameras is determined. A registration of a virtual object to a real object may be updated based on the second spatial relationship.

Recalibration of a flexible mixed reality device

Multi-antenna systems, including mobile devices having multiple antennas, are provided herein. A first antenna and a second antenna are operable at two or more of the same non-overlapping communication frequency bands. The first antenna and the second antenna are closely spaced and have different fundamental modes of operation such that the first antenna and second antenna are substantially isolated at the two or more non-overlapping communication frequency bands. The first antenna and second antenna having different fundamental modes can be a linear antenna, such as a monopole, dipole, PIFA, or PILA, and an aperture antenna, such as a slot or loop antenna.

A head-mounted display device includes a modular frame assembly including one or more different components. Each of the different components may be selected from a component set including at least two or more differently-sized versions of each different component. The head-mounted display device also includes a modular see-through display sub-assembly including one or more mountings for selectably coupling the modular see-through display sub-assembly to the modular frame assembly. The modular see-through display sub-assembly may be configured to couple to any combination of differently-sized versions of different components of the modular frame assembly.
