A device supports first and second flaps on a box traveling on a conveyor, the conveyor traveling at a speed in a direction. The device includes a cam track having a selected profile. The device includes a drive mechanism, wherein at least a portion of the drive mechanism travels proximate the cam track in the direction at substantially the speed of the conveyor. First and second mounting blocks are pivotally attached to the drive mechanism, including first and second cam followers for engaging the cam track; first and second fingers; and first and second hooks attached to the first and second fingers and configured to engage and hold the first and second flaps on the box. Relative positions of the first and second fingers with respect to the box change as the drive mechanism travels along the cam track.

A three-phase drive motor is utilized to operate a boat lift. In one example, a drive motor arrangement for replacing manual drives on an existing boat lift winch shaft comprises a worm gear box with a worm driven by an integrally mounted motor on the worm gear box. A worm gear is mounted on a tubular cross shaft extending outwardly on opposite ends of the gear box. The bore of the cross shaft is of size to slide over an existing winch drive shaft. The tubular shaft has a drive connection that mates with the existing drive connection on the winch box shaft. As shown a disc that effects drives to a mating disc on the winch box shaft. After removing the manual ratchet and wheel on an existing winch shaft, the tubular shaft of the worm gear box can be put into place and a suitable fastener is used to hold the drive connection on the tubular shaft in engagement with the drive member on the winch shaft.

Replacement motorized drive unit for boat lifts

A vacuum holder for use with an automated carton erecting and packing line and mountable on a rotary carton placer for removing cartons into which product is to be placed includes vacuum cup for removing a carton from a store of cartons. The cartons including a foldable flap. The vacuum holder includes a set of vacuum cups that will engage a flap and at an appropriate time in the carton erection sequence will be positively actuated under control of a power actuator to fold the flap to a desired position prior to depositing the carton on a conveyor line. A rotary manifold carries both vacuum for vacuum cups holding the carton, and fluid pressure for the power actuators to the rotating carton placer.

A crosspush conveyor moves cans laterally of a can conveyor into cartons that are also moving at the same speed as the can conveyor. The crosspush conveyor is mounted on a pair of sprockets that support roller chains to form two straight lengths, with the lengths being positioned at an angle relative to the direction of movement of the can conveyor. A plurality of paddles or pushers are mounted onto the chain conveyor and are pivotally mounted so that they can pivot away from a working position as they move through a selected portion of their path of travel. The paddles are supported in a working position on guide rails to hold the pusher members so that they will move cans laterally of the can conveyor on one side of the conveyor. The crosspush conveyor operates without a separate control cam for holding the crosspush members in position throughout the travel of the conveyor.

Crosspush conveyor for carton loader

A rotary placer for picking, transferring and placing a carton from a stack of cartons or sleeves in a magazine to an assembly position. The rotary placer includes a frame driven for rotation about a first axis and supporting an arm having an inner end and an outer end. The outer end of the arm has vacuum cups for engaging and releasably retaining a carton for movement from the pick position to the place position. The arm is reciprocated from an extended position to a retracted position. The vacuum cups engage a carton when the arm is in the extended position and the arm retracts to remove the carton from the magazine and carry it toward the place position. The arm again is extended as it reaches the place position. A cam guide controls the movement of the vacuum cups so they move linearly away from a carton in the magazine.
