The invention discloses novel azeotrope-like mixtures of fluorinated compounds which are useful for heating and cooling as heat transfer agents and/or refrigerants. The azeotrope-like mixture comprises: (a) pentafluoropropane; and (b) a hydrofluorocarbon of the formula: C F H , wherein x is 3, 4, 5, or 6 and y and z are each independently 1 or a positive whole number such that the result of y / (y&plus;z) is greater than 0.67.

The invention discloses novel azeotrope-like mixtures of fluorinated compounds which are useful for heating and cooling as heat transfer agents and/or refrigerants. A non-aqueous cleaning process uses an organic solvent for removing soil or surface contamination from contaminated articles such as printed circuit boards which are cleaned by immersion into a sump compartment of a cleaning tank containing the organic cleaning solvent. The organic solvent is preferably a hydrocarbon solvent. The cleaned articles, now coated with the organic cleaning solvent, are then disposed in a rinsing sump containing a fluorocarbon based rinsing solvent having an affinity for the organic cleaning solvent. The organic solvent is thus removed from the articles which are then dried without waste water as in a conventional solvent vapor degreasing solvent process.

Multiple solvent cleaning system

A method and composition for fusing toner to paper using hydrofluorocarbons or perfluorinated C,-C,alkyl alkyl ethers as a toner fusing agent in a cold fusion process. The composition utilizes a uniform mixture of at least one chlorine-free hydrofluorocarbon or perfluorinated C,-C,alkyl alkyl ether or mixture thereof, and preferably at least one toner stabilizer and/or an optional solvent. When used, the chlorine-free composition achieves satisfactory fusing and is more environmentally advantageous than chlorine containing toner fusing agents. The composition has a zero ozone depletion potential and a low global warming potential.
