A training simulator for healthcare provider training may include one or more of the following: a first body component; a second body component; and a joint located at a junction of the first body component and the second body component, where the first body component is rotatable relative to the second body component at the joint. An actuator system for the training simulator may include a linear slider-crank mechanism and an actuator for controlling the linear slider-crank mechanism, where the linear slider-crank mechanism is configured to control a torque required to move the first body component relative to the second body component at the joint, and where control of the linear slider-crank mechanism with the actuator adjusts the torque.

Training simulator for healthcare training

The disclosure is directed to a method and apparatus for measuring and assessing limb movement properties. The method includes conducting a test protocol with a position, velocity, and resistance meter (PVRM); and obtaining raw data from the PVRM and transmitting the raw data from the PVRM to an electronic device. The method includes processing the raw data to obtain processed data; and obtaining a set of parameters based on the processed data. The method includes obtaining a classification result according to a classifying algorithm based on the set of parameters; and assessing, recording, and displaying a limb movement property according to the classification result.

Method and apparatus for muscle tone and limb movement measurement and assessment

This disclosure describes a low-profile, high-load, and hands-free ball-balancing omnidirectional rolling system with multiple human-robot interfaces for modular and adaptive design configurations and input control interfaces. The disclosed platform uses a self-balancing ball-based robot to allow for a safe, compact, high-load, self-balancing and intuitive mobility device for a person with lower-limb disability. Advanced driving assistance such as obstacle avoidance and semi-autonomous navigation between predefined locations is also disclosed.

Low-profile and high-load ball-balancing rolling system

Apparatus for a manually-powered wheelchair comprising a frame and first and second wheel rotatably coupled to the frame. Each wheel includes a hand rim and a drive wheel. For each of the first and second wheels, a multiple speed transmission coupled to the wheel comprises a transmission output coupled to the drive wheel, a transmission input coupled to the hand rim, and at least two gears selectively coupling the transmission output to the transmission input. The transmission allows the drive wheel and the hand rim to rotate concentrically with one another but at different speeds. A selector is provided for selecting one of the at least two gears. A controller controls the selector to operate the transmission for the first and/or second wheel.

Gear-shifting system for manually propelled wheelchairs

A crutch includes a pole, a cuff, a handle, a forearm support member, and a second forearm support member. The cuff and the handle are attached to the pole. The forearm support member, comprising an actuator, is disposed between the cuff and the handle and is moveable between a constricted position and a non-constricted position. The second forearm support member is disposed within the forearm support member. The energy generating device is configured to move the forearm support member between the constricted position and the non-constricted position.

Forearm and wrist support for crutch users

A portable active fluid-powered ankle foot orthosis. A lower leg mount and a foot bed are pivotally coupled at or proximate to an ankle position. A fluid powered rotary actuator is configured to receive power from a wearable fluid power source and provide controlled force and resistance to aid or inhibit relative rotation of the foot bed and the lower leg mount. An integral controller is provided for receiving data from sensors and controlling the fluid powered rotary actuator to actively assist gait of a user.
