Sensors are disclosed that detect whether a cannula is properly inserted to its full depth in a subject's skin. The sensors may be used with a blood glucose monitor, or with a continuous insulin infusion pump, infusion set, or other system involving intermittent or continuous testing and/or drug delivery.

An endovascular apparatus comprises a catheter shaft constructed and designed for insertion into a venous vessel of a patient; a capture thread positioned in at least one lumen of the catheter shaft and extending from a proximal end of the catheter shaft to a distal end of the catheter shaft for capturing components of a bodily fluid from the patient, the catheter shaft including a plurality of ports for exposing the capture thread to the bodily fluid of the patient; and an enclosure coupled to the proximal end of the catheter shaft. The enclosure includes a feed vessel in communication with a first end of the capture thread and a collection vessel in communication with a second end of the capture thread; and a drive system that controls a movement of the capture thread in the catheter shaft from the feed vessel to the collection vessel.

Wearable breast pumps are provided which utilize compression to enhance milk expression. The breast milk expression systems herein can allow breastfeeding users to obtain milk discreetly and comfortably in the presence of others. These systems compress the breast at one or more locations, such as at a base of a breast and/or along inferior and lateral sides of a breast, to stimulate milk expression. Various components and methods for expressing milk can facilitate milk output. For example, vacuum can be used in conjunction with compression. For another example, one or more temperature sensitive components can be utilized to improve milk secretion. In some embodiments, milk can be collected in a sterile custom storage container located around or beneath the breasts to facilitate wearability. After expression is complete, a quick-release valve can be used to detach the storage container from the pump and can prevent leaks.
