An example system includes a motor/generator selectively coupled to a drive line of a vehicle, and configured to selectively modulate power transfer between an electrical load and the drive line; a battery pack; a DC/DC converter electrically interposed between the motor/generator and the electrical load, and between the battery pack and the electrical load; a covering tray positioned over a plurality of batteries of the battery pack, the covering tray comprising a connectivity layer that has a charging circuit allowing each of the plurality of batteries to be discharged individually; a plurality of battery microcontrollers, each of the plurality of battery microcontrollers associated with a corresponding one of a plurality of batteries of the battery pack; and a primary DC/DC controller configured to command operations of the DC/DC converter; wherein the plurality of battery microcontrollers are operationally coupled to the primary DC/DC controller.

System and method of a mobile electrical system

Systems include a prime mover that generates power for a mobile vehicle; a power converter that receives a portion of the generated power, and provides configured electrical power to an aftertreatment heater device configured to selectively heat an exhaust fluid of the prime mover; at least one aftertreatment component positioned downstream of the aftertreatment heater device, and configured to treat a constituent of the exhaust fluid; and a controller including an operating conditions circuit structured to interpret an operating parameter of one of the power converter, the aftertreatment heater device, the prime mover, or the exhaust fluid; a heater management circuit that determines a heating power value in response to the operating parameter; and a heater control circuit that provides a heating command in response to the heating power value; and wherein the power converter is responsive to the heating command to heat the exhaust fluid of the prime mover.

Aftertreatment heater power electronics

An example system includes a vehicle having a prime mover motively coupled to a drive line; a motor/generator selectively coupled to the drive line, and configured to selectively modulate power transfer between an electrical load and the drive line; a battery pack; a DC/DC converter electrically interposed between the motor/generator and the electrical load, and between the battery pack and the electrical load, the DC/DC converter comprising a DC/DC converter housing; and a covering tray positioned over a plurality of batteries of the battery pack, the covering tray comprising a connectivity layer configured to provide electrical connectivity to terminals of the plurality of batteries.

A motor drive converter includes a cold plate having a first side and a second side, the first side being opposite to the second side. The motor drive converter may further include at least one motor phase power electronics disposed on the first side of the cold plate, and a capacitor array disposed on the second side of the cold plate. The cold plate may include slots therethrough for a conductor to pass through the cold plate. The conductor may be configured to electrically coupling the capacitor array and the at least one motor phase power electronics.
