In various embodiments, methods and systems for presenting a search interface with search query history based functionality is provided. A search query history store comprising search queries is accessed. The search query history store includes search queries executed in a search computing system. A search query comprises one or more commands. A plurality of search queries retrieved from the search query history store is displayed on the search interface using a placement style. A placement style, such as an indent style, provides a structure for separating and arranging commands of a plurality of search queries displayed. The search interface further provides for receiving a selection of at least a portion of a search query from the plurality of search queries to initiate actions or execute actions based on the selection. The search interface includes a search input interface, such as a search bar, where the selection of the portion of the search query is displayed based on a selected action.

Leveraging search query history in a search interface

A method of providing a task assistant to provide an interface to an application is described. The method comprises receiving input from a user through multimodal input including a plurality of speech input, typing input, and touch input, interpreting the input, and providing a formatted query to the application, receiving data from the application in response to the query, and providing a response to the user through multimodal output including a plurality of: speech output, text output, non-speech audio output, haptic output, and visual non-text output.

A method of providing a task assistant is described. The task assistant is designed to receive input from a user through multimodal input including a plurality of speech input, typing input, and touch input, determine the meaning of the input, and determining whether there is a context based on prior interactions with the user. The method further to generate an interpreted input based on a combination of the input and the context, and providing a formatted query to an application. The method further to receive data from the application in response to the formatted query, and provide a response to the user through multimodal output including a plurality of: speech output, text output, non-speech audio output, haptic output, and visual non-text output. The method further to update the context based on the interpreted input.

Task assistant utilizing context for improved interaction

A method of providing a task assistant to provide an interface to an application is described. The method includes, in one embodiment, identifying a user and determining whether there is a push notification to be shown to the user. When there is a push notification to be shown to the user, the task assistant displaying the push notification to the user, such that when the user acknowledges the push notification, the user is directed to a push destination. A method of utilizing a speech assistant, the speech assistant designed to provide a voice input and speech output capability, the method comprising, enabling the use of the speech assistant for communication with a user, and terminating the speech assistant when the communication is complete. The method further comprises receiving a notification from a native application associated with the communication, and activating a sub-portion of the speech assistant, to enable outputting of the notification using speech output, thereby enabling the use of speech output for periodic announcements without enabling the speech assistant.

Speech recognition and interpretation system

A user interface and methods for using a user interface for controlling processing of time-based media files. In one exemplary method, a graphical representation of a time line for a time-based media is displayed along with a graphical representation of a current time along the graphical representation of the time line. A start graphical indicator and a stop graphical indicator is also displayed along the graphical representation of the time line. A portion of the time-based media may be selected for presentation by dragging or positioning at least one of the start graphical indicator and the stop graphical indicator along the graphical representation of the time line. In another aspect of the invention, an exemplary method allows for the adaptive control of a portion of the interface which indicates time relating to a time-based media. An input speed is determined where this input is to change the portion and the rate at which the change to this portion occurs is dependent upon the input speed. The method includes a computer-implemented method for providing a user interface for interacting with a computing device, the method including the steps of: representing an indicator of an application on the computing device in a highlighted state when a user navigates to the indicator; presenting an option panel contextually related to the application when the user selects a panel key on the computing device; and running the application when the user selects an execute key on the computing device.
