In a radio system a network node is provided to be operatively connected to a set of radio base stations of the radio network and to retrieving a neighbor list from each radio base station in said set of radio base stations. Based on said list of neighbors it is determined if a pair of radio base stations lack a connection between them, and upon determining that a connection between two radio base stations is lacking a connection between said pair of radio base stations is set up.

Methods and devices for managing a cellular radio network

The present invention relates to network nodes and methods that use an encoding scheme for encoding a point-to-multipoint traffic path from one ingress node to a plurality of egress nodes in, for example, a Multi-Protocol Label Switching network. According to the encoding scheme a so-called common ERO is used. The common ERO specifies a list consisting of nodes that are common to several sub paths in order to provide a compression mechanism that reduces the size of path messages that are used for signaling the point-to-multipoint traffic path.

Methods and devices for point to multipoint traffic path encoding

Failure detection and traffic redirection are implemented in an OpenFlow switch. Link failure detection packets, such as Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) packets, are periodically sent out on links to peer OpenFlow switches, such as via the Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) Transport Profile (MPLS-TP). Link failure detection packets are received from the peer OpenFlow switches on the links, and monitored. A link failure is detected if no incoming link failure detection packets are received on a link for a predetermined interval. In the event of a link failure, traffic is redirected from the failed link to a backup link by altering entries on a flow table of the OpenFlow switch.
