The present invention relates to hydrocarbons and particularly to the manufacture of hydrocarbon components suitable as aviation fuels or jet fuels and as blending stocks for aviation fuels. The process comprises the stages, wherein in the first stage an oil feed of biological origin and hydrogen gas are subjected to conditions sufficient to effect hydrodeoxygenation in the presence of a hydrodeoxygenation catalyst to yield n-paraffins; in the second stage the n-paraffins and hydrogen gas are subjected to conditions sufficient to effect isomerization in the presence of an isomerization catalyst to yield isoparaffins and separating fractions; and recycling the fraction boiling at a temperature above 200&#xb0; C. under atmospheric pressure obtained from the second stage to reisomerization, where isomerization is effected in the presence of an isomerization catalyst.

Process for the manufacture of hydrocarbon components

In the process of the invention, an aliphatic C-Chydrocarbon product is prepared from natural fats or derivatives thereof. The process comprises the steps of: (i) providing a natural fat or derivative thereof, (ii) deoxygenating a natural fat or derivative thereof originating from step (i) to yield an aliphatic C-Chydrocarbon, (iii) hydrocracking an aliphatic C-Chydrocarbon originating from step (ii) to yield a product comprising an aliphatic C-Chydrocarbon, (iv) isomerising an aliphatic C-Chydrocarbon originating from step (iii) into an isomerised aliphatic C-Chydrocarbon, and optionally (v) recovering an isomerised C-Chydrocarbon originating from step (iv) as said C-Chydrocarbon product. Pure and high quality light fuel is easily obtained in sufficient amounts.

Process for the preparation of light fuels

The present invention relates to a method for the deoxygenation of materials of biological origin and particularly to the removal of oxygen from biomass derived organic compounds with carbon monoxide, to yield linear and branched hydrocarbons suitable as biofuels or as blending stocks or components for biofuels, such as gas, gasoline, diesel fuel and aviation fuel, as well as solvents. The method comprises contacting a feedstock with carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst comprising a metal selected from a group consisting of ruthenium, manganese, rhodium, rhenium, osmium, iridium, molybdenum, copper, zinc, palladium, platinum and cobalt, in the presence of water, under alkaline conditions at a temperature from 150 to 350&#xb0; C. and under a pressure from 0.1 to 150 bar, to produce hydrocarbons.

Deoxygenation of materials of biological origin

The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of diesel range hydrocarbons wherein a feed comprising fresh feed is hydrotreated in a hydrotreating step and isomerized in an isomerization step and the fresh feed contains at least 20% by weight triglyceride C-Cfatty acids or C-Cfatty acid esters or C-Cfatty acids or combinations of thereof and feed contains 50-20000 w-ppm sulphur calculated as elemental sulphur.

The present invention relates to an active and selective zeolite catalyst having MTT structure that is useful in skeletal isomerisation of light olefins. The method for the manufacture of the zeolite catalyst having MTT structure comprises the steps of a) preparing of a gel mixture capable of forming crystalline material, and the mixture comprising sources of alkali or alkaline earth metal (M), of an oxide of a trivalent element (X), of an oxide of a tetravalent element (Y), water and a directing agent (R), and the mixture having a composition, in terms of molar ratios, within the given ranges; b) maintaining the mixture under sufficient conditions, including a temperature of from about 100&#xb0; C. to about 250&#xb0; C., under dynamic mode of stirring until crystals of the material are formed, recovering the material; and c) removing the directing agent (R) partly or totally with a calcination procedure.

Zeolite catalyst for skeletal isomerisation of olefins

Process for producing gasoline components. The process comprises feeding a fresh olefinic hydrocarbon feedstock to a reaction zone, in which its structure is first isomerized. The isomerized hydrocarbon is drawn out of the first reaction zone and conducted to a second reaction zone, where the isomerized hydrocarbon is dimerized. The dimerized reaction product is drawn out of the second reaction zone and separated from the flow in a separation zone. Because there are more isoolefins present in the dimerization unit feed, more isoolefin dimers useful as fuel components can be produced.
