Drug delivery safety devices having trigger activation systems activated by pressure against the skin of a patient and which automatically shield the needle after withdrawing the needle from the skin of the patient.

Safety device with collapsible housing and trigger activation

A safety needle device is disclosed having a housing configured to couple to a syringe, the housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a housing body. A needle hub is disposed on the proximal end of the housing and a needle cannula is attached to the needle hub. The device having a retractable sheath configured to move between an initial position, a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula. The safety needle device may include an activation latch, a lockout latch, a tether and a spring element to bias the retractable sheath to an extended state to cover the distal end of the needle cannula upon completion of an injection. The safety needle device may include a slider element disposed above an activation latch. A method of drug delivery is also disclosed.

Packaging for safety needle devices are described herein. Such packaging can include hard packaging for safety needle devices. Such packaging can include a cavity or recess in a compartment of the packaging to house an activation element of a safety needle device to prevent accidental activation of the safety needle device prior to use by the user. A safety needle device is disclosed comprising a hub, needle cannula, housing, tether, retractable sleeve, locking member and spring element. The tether is slidably disposed in the housing, the tether having a slot with an enlarged first guide path and a narrowed second guide path extending distally from the enlarged first guide path. The retractable sleeve is configured to move between an initial position, retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula.

Safety needle devices

A surgical collection assembly for filtering material from liquid obtained during surgery. A jar having an inlet and an outlet each adapted for connection to a suction line. A set of orientation features to position an upper portion of a collection basket within the jar such that an upper portion of the collection basket does not impede a flow of material entering the jar through the inlet. A bottom surface with a pattern of recessed paths in the bottom surface, the pattern of recessed paths connected to the outlet. A plunger assembly that may be reversibly attached to the jar so that a distal end of a plunger may be used to compress collected material within the collection basket to help remove fluid from the collected material. For certain uses, the surgical collection assembly may have a simple jar lid without an integrated plunger.

Drug delivery safety devices comprise a safety needle device comprising a needle hub, a needle cannula, and a safety feature; and a cap comprising a cap body having a proximal end attached to the safety needle device and a distal end having an access opening that is in fluid communication with the needle cannula. The safety needle device allow for an integrated device for both filling and injection that do not interfere with passive safety features. The caps may have a fill feature that engages with a safety feature of the safety needle device to keep it in a fill state.

A safety needle device is disclosed having a hub, needle cannula, housing, tether, retractable sleeve, locking member and spring element. The tether is movably disposed in the housing, the tether having a slot with an enlarged first guide path and a narrowed second guide path extending distally from the enlarged first guide path. The retractable sleeve is configured to move from an initial position to partially expose a distal tip of the needle cannula, a retracted position to fully exposes the needle cannula, and an extended position to fully cover the distal tip of the needle cannula. The proximal movement of one or more protrusions on the retractable sleeve, rotates the tether to move the at least one or more protrusions from the enlarged first guide path of the tether to the narrowed second guide path of the tether, this rotation activating the device.

A catheter insertion device which employs back-and-forth longitudinal axial movement to advance the catheter by the cooperative interface of an incline ramp and a decline ramp with a split gripping mechanism is described.

Urinary catheter insertion device and kit

A self-catheterization assistance apparatus is presented. The apparatus has a base, a penis retention element coupled to the base and a catheter retention member coupled to the base. A penis is inserted into and securedly attached to the penis retention element. A catheter housing is inserted into and securedly attached to the catheter retention member. An optional advancer advances the catheter through the catheter housing and into the penis.

Self-catheterization assistance apparatus

A syringe fill system is described, which is useful for filling syringes for dental anesthetic applications. The system incorporates capability for 'push-pull', 'pull-push', &#x201c;push-push&#x201d;, and &#x201c;pull-pull&#x201d; modes of operation, for loading syringes with compositions comprising multiple fluid components. A syringe fillable by such syringe fill systems is described, providing haptic and audible feedback to a user, to aid in administering precise amounts of therapeutic compositions. Also disclosed are cassette assemblies for use in such syringe fill systems. Such cassette assemblies may be formed of plastic and elastomeric materials of construction, as disposable or single-use components of the syringe fill system.
