A method is provided for controlling a drying cycle of a laundry dryer having a laundry drum and an air stream fan for circulating drying air through said laundry drum. The method includes the steps of: starting a drying cycle (); performing the drying cycle (); detecting an electric resistance and/or conductivity of the laundry during the drying cycle () for estimating a dryness level of the laundry; comparing the electric resistance and/or conductivity of the laundry with an end cycle condition (); and finishing the drying cycle (), if the end cycle condition () is fulfilled. The end cycle condition () depends on the rotation speed (S) of the laundry drum and/or on the rotation speed (S) of the air stream fan.

A method to control a washing machine including a tub and a drum rotatably mounted inside the tub. The method includes and configured to contain laundry to be washed, the method comprising setting a wash cycle, calculating a first duration of the washing cycle based on a weight of the laundry before adding water to the tub, and: (i) when the weight is above the threshold, introducing water into the tub, calculating a second weight of the laundry, calculating a second duration based on the second weight, or (ii) when the weight is below the threshold, updating the first duration while executing the washing cycle, without calculating a second duration.

A method for controlling a laundry drying machine having a laundry treating chamber and a control unit which receives a signal indicative of laundry moisture from a moisture sensor. The method includes receiving a user input of a laundry treating program, and, in the machine initialization phase, comparing the laundry moisture indicated by the signal to a first threshold, which is stored in the control unit and is indicative of dried laundry or empty threating chamber. If the signal is determined to be equal or less than the first threshold, one or more of the following actions is performed: carrying out only a portion of the selected laundry treating program; skipping the program main phase; starting the program final phase; stopping the laundry treating program; providing a notification of dried laundry and/or empty treating chamber.

A method () for operating a laundry washing appliance (), such as a washing machine or a combined washer-dryer, having a washing chamber () to wash goods according to a wash program selected by a user including at least a washing cycle. The method includes adding () a detergent to a washing liquor () within the washing chamber () during a washing phase of the washing cycle, the washing phase having a predefined duration; performing () a plurality of measurements of the conductivity of the washing liquor () in order to collect a set of conductivity measurements (C, . . . , C) defining a conductivity curve analyzing the set of conductivity measurements (C, . . . , C) in order to determine () if a condition of substantial invariability of the conductivity measurements (C, . . . , C) is reached and/or detect () if the related conductivity curve shows a peak. The method also includes extending () the predefined duration of the washing phase, if after a first preset time period (T) starting from the beginning of the washing phase, no conductivity increase or peak in the conductivity curve is detected; and/or extending () the predefined duration of the washing phase, if after a second preset time period (T) starting from the beginning of the washing phase, the condition of substantial invariability of the conductivity measurements (C, . . . , C) has not been reached.

A method for operating a laundry washing appliance having a washing chamber to wash laundry the method includes selecting a default washing temperature and/or a washing cycle having a default washing temperature; supplying a detergent to the washing chamber; and determining a type of the detergent which has been added. When the detergent is of a first type, then the method includes comparing the default washing temperature with a threshold temperature and if the default washing temperature is higher than the threshold temperature, then emitting a warning signal and/or changing said default washing temperature.

A method for controlling a wash process in a washing appliance includes supplying a detergent in the washing appliance; detecting a type of detergent supplied; performing a wash cycle that ends with a washing liquor drain; and performing a rinsing cycle in accordance with the detected type of detergent. When the detected detergent is a powder detergent, water is introduced into the washing chamber for a first rinsing step. A heat pump laundry dryer or a heat pump washing machine having a drying function, includes a control unit controlling an operation of the laundry treatment apparatus. A laundry treatment chamber treats laundry using process air circulated in a process air circuit. A heat pump system has a refrigerant loop in which refrigerant fluid is circulated through a first and a second heat exchanger. A compressor circulates the refrigerant fluid through the refrigerant loop, and a cooling fan unit cools the compressor. During the operation, a conveyance capacity of the cooling fan unit is varied. A detector unit detects an operation parameter indicating a state of at least one electronic board. A method of operation includes operating the cooling fan unit based upon the electronic board operation parameter, and controlling the compressor operation output based upon the electronic board operation parameter, wherein the compressor is a variable speed compressor.

A laundry washing machine () includes a washing tub () external to a rotatable washing drum () adapted to receive laundry. The machine further includes a water supply circuit () to supply water into the washing tub (), a washing/rinsing products supplier () to supply washing/rinsing products into the washing tub (), a heater device () placed at the bottom () of the washing tub () for heating a liquid coming into contact with it and a liquid output () placed at the bottom () of the washing tub () for introducing liquid into the washing tub ().
