A data acquisition system for dielectric analysis measurements, including a sensor interface configured to connect to one or more sensors located within an active machining zone of an industrial manufacturing machine, a module processor coupled to the sensor interface and configured to receive measurement values from one or more sensors connected to the sensor interface, a cloud interface coupled to the module processor, and a machine interface coupled to the module processor. The measurement values indicate physical properties of workpieces processed in the active machining zone of an industrial manufacturing machine. The cloud interface is configured to connect to cloud-based resources, and the machine interface is configured to connect to a controller of the industrial manufacturing machine. The module processor is configured to transmit the received measurement values from the one or more dielectric sensors to cloud-based resources via the cloud interface and to transmit manufacturing control signals to the controller of the industrial manufacturing machine via the machine interface, the manufacturing control signals being based on parameters received from cloud-based resources via the cloud interface.

A program-controlled computer unit is used to calculate at least one probability of the agreement of the measurement result with at least one dataset previously stored in the computer unit, wherein this calculation is based on a comparison of effect data previously extracted from a measurement curve of the thermal analysis with corresponding stored effect data of the dataset. Disclosed are improved methods and apparatus for determining a kinetic parameter of a sample via thermogravimetry. According to the methods, accuracy of the measured parameter is improved and made less susceptible to noise across a temperature range, in particular at near-zero values of the rate of change of the weight of the sample. The disclosed methods avoid taking a logarithm of the first derivative of a thermogravimetric signal related to the sample weight detected during the experiment.

A method for conducting a differential thermal analysis, in which a sample disposed in a temperable sample space is tempered according to an essentially linear temperature program extending from a start temperature to an end temperature, such that, from the result of a measurement of the sample temperature conducted during tempering at a number of measurement time points, a DTA signal is calculated as the difference between a measured sample temperature and a reference temperature calculated according to a temperature curve model. According to the invention, for every measurement time point, the relevant reference temperature is calculated by the following steps: (a) establish a time interval containing the relevant measurement time point; (b) calculate a non-linear adjustment function for the measured sample temperature curve in the time interval; and (c) calculate the reference temperature as a value of the adjustment function for the measurement time point.
