Systems and methods are provided for encryption enhancement for a multi-link operation. Various subsets of addresses (or all addresses) associated with the frame are set to a determined known value, allowing encryption of the mac protocol data unit (MPDU) at a controller without knowledge of which particular link the frames will be sent. The multi-link devices (MLDs) used in the above communication may conduct communications in compliance with the IEEE 802.11be standard.

Currently, spatial reuse (SR) is a feature used indiscriminately for/across all traffic classes. However, systems and methods are provided for increasing the reliability of voice traffic and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Acknowledgement (ACK) messaging. The result is improved quality of voice calls, and enhanced network capacity. When the length of a data section of a packet suggests that subsequent packets are associated with voice traffic or TCP ACKs, such packets are not transmitted when another transmission(s) is occurring under spatial reuse. When a determination is made that the length of a data section of the packet suggests non-voice traffic or TCP ACKs, they can be transmitted simultaneously with other transmissions occurring under spatial reuse.

Selective spatial reuse to enhance network performance

Systems and methods for providing low latency connection by a network device is described herein. Upon receiving a request for a low latency connection from a client device, a lower frequency filter in a primary 6 GHz radio, a secondary 6 GHz radio and an upper frequency filter in the secondary 6 GHz radio may be enabled. A transition band between the lower frequency filter and the upper frequency filter may be enabled such that there is no interference between a primary frequency channel allowed by the lower frequency filter and a secondary frequency channel allowed by the upper frequency filter. An operating frequency channel of an existing communication session with the client device may be determined. Based on the operating frequency channel, the primary frequency channel and the secondary frequency channel may be determined to provide a first communication connection and a second communication connection to the client device.

Ultra low latency

Examples of sensor-based roaming issue identification in a wireless network are disclosed. In an example, a wireless roam for a sensor may be initiated from a source AP to a target AP. Management traffic between the sensor and one of the source AP or the target AP during the wireless roam may be monitored. In response to detecting an anomaly in the management traffic, the wireless roam for the sensor from the source AP to the target AP may be re-initiated. Management traffic capture on the sensor during the reinitiated wireless roam may be initiated. A roaming issue for the sensor may be identified based on analysis of the captured management traffic and the same may be reported.

Logic may enable client devices or access points to relay medium access control (MAC) frames through a Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) Direct network such as a network of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) connections to extend the wireless range of the devices or access points beyond the transmission range of the individual devices or access points. Logic may extend the range of IEEE 802.11 devices, such as IEEE 802.11ah devices, by allowing a station in the middle of two stations to serve as a relay station using the Wi-Fi Direct technology. Logic may enable relaying to avoid a full mesh technology such as is defined in IEEE 802.11s, since the full mesh technology may contain too many features that are not required for a simple or a static network configuration of such embodiments.

Methods and arrangements to relay packets

Examples of location determination of access points in a network are disclosed. In an example, a provisional proximity matrix comprising a measured distance between each pair of Access Points (APs) of a plurality of APs in a network is generated. Missing distances between one or more pairs of APs in the provisional proximity matrix are filled to generate a complete proximity matrix. A provisional deployment location map is generated for the plurality of APs based on the complete proximity matrix. Relative angles between paths connecting each pair of APs of the plurality of APs in the provisional deployment location map is determined. The filled distances in the complete proximity matrix are revised based on the relative angles to generate a corrected proximity matrix. A complete deployment location map for the plurality of APs is generated based on the corrected proximity matrix.

Location identification of access points in a network

Examples described herein provide automatic location of access points by a computing device. Examples may include receiving, by the computing device from each AP in a subset of a plurality of APs, a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal measurement, and based on each received GNSS signal measurement, constraining, by the computing device, the map of relative AP locations by at least one translational degree of freedom or one rotational degree of freedom. Examples may include resolving, by the computing device, locations of the plurality of APs in the map of relative AP locations.

Automatic location of access points in a network

Systems and methods are provided for defining a split multi-link system. For example, the split multi-link system can define a multi-link device (MLD), where the MLD operates a first radio from a first AP of a plurality of APs and a second radio from a second AP of the plurality of APs through a Media Access Control (MAC) Service Access Point (SAP) of the split multi-link system. The first radio from the first AP and the second radio from the second AP may operate at different frequencies. The split multi-link system may also affiliate the first radio from the first AP and the second radio from the second AP with the MLD, where, using the MLD, the split multi-link system can transmit or receive one or more data frames from the MLD to a non-MLD or MLD client device using the first radio or the second radio.

Systems and methods are provided for improving geolocation services, like GPS, using network device measurements. For example, a plurality of access points (APs) or other network devices may be implemented in a network environment and constructed with a GPS chip. Range measurements can be collected from these network devices and incorporated with the GPS locations using various methods described herein to improve the overall location determination of these devices.

Systems and methods for dynamic client segregation in 802.11ax networks includes determining, for each access point of a plurality of access points in a network, a ratio comprising a number of fully uplink multi-user capable client devices to a total number of client devices connected to the access point; and steering, based on at least the ratio, client devices of the network to particular access points of the plurality of access points.

Embodiments may comprise an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system operating in the 1 GHz and lower frequency bands. In many embodiments, physical layer logic may implement a new preamble structure with a new signal field. Embodiments may store the preamble structure and/or a preamble based upon the new preamble structure on a machine-accessible medium. Some embodiments may generate and transmit a communication with the new preamble structure. Further embodiments may receive and detect communications with the new preamble structure.

A dynamic BSS color feature for co-hosted virtual access points is described. An example of a storage medium includes instructions to operations including enabling, by an access point, a dynamic basic service set (BSS) color feature for operation with multiple virtual access points (VAPs) hosted by the access point; switching a parameter of the access point to indicate that no co-hosted BSS is present; assigning a different BSS color to each of the VAPs; performing access point operations, including utilizing the assigned BSS colors for transmissions relating to any of the VAPs; and disabling the dynamic BSS color feature upon occurrence of one or more conditions.

Systems and techniques are described that are directed to filter frequency response shift compensation, including compensating for shifting in the rejection band of the filter. Compensation for the shifting in the rejection band can include applying a pre-distortion to attenuate edge resource units (RUs), and applying PHY Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) scheduling schemes. For example, a PPDU scheduling scheme reduce bandwidth in the channel, thereby dropping the out of band RUs. Front ends provide feedback to a respective radio, which allows that radio to apply the appropriate pre-distortion. The front ends can include one or more filters enabling frequency domain coexistence between collocated radios operating in the differing Wi-Fi bands, and a coupler that provides the feedback indicating the frequency response shift to a radio. The radio can then apply a digital pre-distortion to compensate for the shifting in the rejection band.

Examples described herein mitigate adjacent channel interference for dual radios of a network device. Examples described herein may associate, by a network device, a first client device with a first radio of the network device, associate, by the network device, a second client device with a second radio of the network device, determine that the first and second client devices are within a steering threshold, and based on the determination that the first and second client devices are within the steering threshold, steer, by the network device, the second client device from the second radio to the first radio. Examples described herein may communicate, using the first radio of the network device, with the first and second client devices.

Mitigating adjacent channel interference for a dual radio network device

Embodiments are directed to automatic location of access points in a network. An embodiment of one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage mediums includes instructions for transmitting a request from a computing device to multiple access points in a network to determine a distance between each pair of access points of the multiple access points; receiving at the computing device the determined distances between each pair of access points; generating a proximity matrix containing the determined distances between each pair of access points; solving the proximity matrix to automatically generate a set of locations for the multiple access points; and orienting the generated set of locations for the multiple access points based on known locations of one or more anchor points in a subset of the access points.
