Systems and methods to determine and ascertain the occurrence of an event are provided. The event can manifest its presence through transient signatures that alter short or long term background sensor registered signals. The system can include multiple sensors, one or more data recorders and data reporting devices. Event data from each sensor is collected, recorded and reported. Data from the various sensors is correlated to triangulate or otherwise localize the occurrence of an event. The sensors can be incorporated on a single device or can be a distributed set of independent sensors on separate devices that share their information with the data collection system.

Multi-sensor event detection system

A system for in-air deployment of objects utilizes an aircraft having a hatch that can be opened while the aircraft is in mid-flight. An air and pressure tight container stowed within the aircraft has a doorway that is sealed to and about the hatch from within the aircraft. Mounted within the container is an expulsion system for expelling objects from the container through its doorway and the aircraft's hatch. The container may be coupled and sealed to other containers to define a contiguous volume for storing the objects and allowing movement of the objects between containers.

Method and system for deployment of ordnance from an aircraft in mid-flight

A common payload rail externally supports a submerged payload from an unmanned marine vehicle. A vehicle interface module has a conforming surface rigidly secured to the unmanned vehicle and feed-through conduits. A functionality module is secured to the vehicle interface module and contains internal interfacing components to minimize or eliminate any modifications to the payload and vehicle. A payload interface module having feed-through conduits is secured to the functionality module and has longitudinally extending rail structures sized to engage correspondingly shaped longitudinally extending receiving means on the payload. The longitudinally extending rail structures are shaped to extend into longitudinally extending receiving means on the payload to arrest lateral displacement between the payload interface module and the payload and at least one securing mechanism on the payload interface module is disposed to engage the payload to arrest longitudinal displacement between the payload interface module and the payload.

An inflatable barrier system halts an approaching boat. A barrier support platform houses a pressurized gas source and a power supply and has a winch connected to a pair of cables. An inflatable barrier body member having a bow and stern is coupled to the pressurized gas source for inflation of the body member and the cables are connected to the bow and stern to deploy the inflated body member at the surface of the water and to maintain the bow above the surface and the stern below the surface of the water. A barrier controller provides signals indicative of the approaching boat to initiate the inflation of the inflatable barrier body member and the deployment of the inflated barrier body member at the surface with the bow above the surface and the stern below the surface without inflicting excessive damage to the boat or injury to its occupants.

A biometric data collection and storage system includes stations (e.g., checkpoints such as those found in airports, seaports and border crossings) for collecting biometric data from each individual passing therethrough. The biometric data includes a variety individual-specific biometric features that are measured or collected while the individual is in the station. Each station, uniquely identifiable by a code, assembles a data package to include the biometric data and the station's code. A controller maintained in proximity to the stations receives and encrypts each data package to generate an encrypted data package for each individual. Storage devices/facilities located remotely with respect to the controller are used to store each encrypted data package.

Biometric data collection and storage system

Identity and biometric data are collected from individuals. The collected data is used to form biometric data packages, each of which contains information about one biometric feature and identity data associated with the corresponding individual. Each biometric data package is stored in a categorical fashion based on its biometric feature. A current query from a requesting source includes at least one monitored biometric feature of an individual of interest. A first correlation is performed between the current query's monitored biometric feature and the same type of biometric feature associated with those of the biometric data packages previously stored in a categorical fashion. A second correlation is performed between the current query's monitored biometric feature and the monitored biometric feature associated with each of the previous queries. Results of the correlations can be indications of suspicious behavior that was used by the requesting source to form the current query.

System and method for assessing suspicious behaviors

Digital data is prepared for storage in a secure fashion. Each data byte of a data file is encrypted. A unique bit number is assigned to each data bit in the encrypted data bytes where the bit number identifies a position of the data bit in the data file. Each such bit number is encrypted to generate a corresponding encrypted bit number. A data package is generated for each data bit. The data package includes a first data byte containing (i) a value of the data bit, and (ii) a bit storage location, at least one second data byte identifying the data file with which the data bit is associated, and at least one third data byte containing the encrypted bit number associated with the data bit. Each data package is transmitted to one of a plurality of storage locations based on the bit storage location identified in the data package's first data byte.

Preparing data for storage in a secure fashion

Event data associated with possible terrorist activities occurring at geographically-dispersed locations is monitored and analyzed. Event data collected from the locations is delineated by one or more data classes. Statistical analyses performed on the event data are based on one of a number of unique time periods or blocks. Results of the statistical analyses are used in the performance of a number of correlations in order to identify patterns occurring in the data classes and/or correlations between the data classes.

Correlating event data for large geographic area

A data storage system has data storage devices dispersed over a geographic area such that any two of the data storage devices are separated by a distance measured in miles or kilometers. A processing system coupled to the data storage devices performs several functions that culminate in the generation of a data package for each data bit of a data file that is to be stored. Each such data package includes a value of the data bit, a bit storage location, identification of the data file with which the data bit is associated, and an ordered-position bit number associated with the data bit. The data processing system distributes data packages associated with a data file approximately evenly amongst the data storage devices for storage thereat.

Data storage system using geographically-distributed storage devices/facilities

To secure the confidentiality of data stored in data storage devices, a position determination system is mechanically coupled to the data storage devices and continuously determines a position thereof. A processor, provided with an authorized location for the data storage devices, facilitates transfer of data to and from the data storage devices. Specifically, when the position of the data storage devices matches the authorized location, the processor facilitates transfer of data from the data storage devices without any modification of the data. However, when the position of the data storage means does not match the authorized location, the processor inflates the data by dispersing it in a very large set of irrelevant data.

System for securing the confidentiality of electronically stored data in the event of the physical theft thereof

An unmanned system is provided for the handling and delivery of a plurality of operational payloads. Each of a plurality of standardized shipping containers houses an operational payload, a controller that controls functions of the operational payload, and communication means that communicates with the controller. A structure is provided for supporting the shipping containers in a fixed relationship to one another so that the shipping containers can be handled and transported collectively by moving the structure. The structure is equipped with means to facilitate data transfer with each shipping container's controller.

System for the combined handling, delivery and/or protection of multiple standardized containers and their controllable payloads

An unmanned, real-time, printed material generation and dispersal system includes a standardized shipping container houses at least one printing module capable of generating printed materials, a controller module for controlling the generation of the printed materials and monitoring status of the printing module, a communications module for communicating with the printing module and transmitting the status to a remote location, and a dispenser for receiving the printed materials so-generated and expelling them from the shipping container.

An unmanned system is provided for the delivery and control of an operational payload. A standardized shipping container houses the operational payload. Mounted in the shipping container are a controller for controlling functions of the operational payload and a communication module providing for communication with the operational payload via the controller.

A system is provided for slowing the speed of a product released into the air from an aircraft. A flexible material wrapped about a product includes a tethered portion thereof that is collapsible against the product prior to release thereof from the aircraft. The tethered portion expands to form an air drag device after the product is released from the aircraft.
