A method of applying a closed cell spray foam insulation may include spraying a first layer of a closed cell spray foam insulation into a wall cavity. A B-side mixture of the closed cell spray foam insulation may include a polyol blend having a polyester polyol having a functionality of at least about 3.0 and a polyether polyol. The method may include spraying at least one additional layer of the closed cell spray foam insulation against the first layer within 5 minutes of spraying the first layer.

Acid-resistant and biosoluble glass compositions and products made therefrom. The glass compositions exhibit acid resistance, durability in white water as may be used in a wet laid fabrication process, and good biosolubility. In another aspect, a glass fiber mat is made from such a glass composition, and may be used in the manufacture of lead-acid batteries, for example as a pasting material or battery separator.

A glass composition useful in preparing fiberglass comprises 12 to 25 weight % CaO; 12 to 16 weight % AlO; 52 to 62 weight % SiO; 0.05 to 0.8 FeO; and greater than 2 up to about 8 weight % alkali metal oxide.

High alkali glass composition

Provided are glass compositions with higher softening point temperatures than conventional glasses, which improve flame penetration test performance of flexible duct insulation. In particular, the glass compositions have a softening point in the range of about 1230-1276&#xb0; F., a log-3 viscosity temperature in the range of about 1802-1879&#xb0; F., and a temperature difference between log-3 viscosity and liquidus temperatures of at least 150&#xb0; F. These glasses are specially formulated to increase softening point while only minimally increasing log-3 viscosity temperature, so as to allow fiber insulation manufacturing without requiring increased energy use.

Glass compositions with high softening point temperatures

A glass fiber composition comprises about 33-47 weight % SiO; about 18-28 weight % AlO; about 5-15 weight % FeO; greater than or equal to about 2 weight % and less than 10 weight % RO; about 8-30 weight % CaO; and less than 4 weight % MgO; wherein RO represents alkali metal oxides. Preferably, the glass fiber composition has a liquidus temperature of less than 2350&#xb0; F.; and a viscosity at a liquidus temperature of the glass fiber composition of greater than 500 poise; and fire resistant glass fiber formed from the glass fiber composition has a biodissolution rate of greater than 50 ng/cm/hr.

A glass fiber composition comprises about 52-65 weight % SiO; less than or equal to 4 weight % AlO; about 7-16 weight % FeO; greater than 6 weight % and less than or equal to about 14 weight % RO; about 6-25 weight % CaO; less than or equal to 10 weight % MgO; and about 10-25 weight % RO; wherein RO represents alkali metal oxides and RO represents alkaline earth metal oxides. Preferably, the glass fiber composition has a liquidus temperature of less than 2350&#xb0; F.; and a viscosity at a liquidus temperature of the glass fiber composition of greater than 500 poise; and fire resistant glass fiber formed from the glass fiber composition has a biodissolution rate of greater than 50 ng/cm/hr.
