A lymphokine is taught which can be used to activate and stimulate CD3.sup.+, CD4.sup.+ T cells, as well as Sezary leukemic T cells. The lymphokine can be obtained from mitogen-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells or urine of Sezary Syndrome patients. The lymphokine upregulates interleukin-2 receptors.

Lymphokine SAF and method of making

A method of inducing an immunological response to solid tumors is provided wherein anti-idiotype antibodies presenting an internal image of a tumor or antigen are administered to a patient. Monoclonal anti-idiotype antibodies and immortal B lymphocytes that produce them are also provided.

Induction of antibody response to solid tumors with anti-idiotype

An assay for HLA D phenotype wherein antigen-pulsed monocytes are contacted with antigen-specific T lymphocytes or T cell hybridomas and the extent of selective binding between the pulsed monocytes and the T lymphocytes or T cell hybridomas determines HLA D phenotype of the monocyte. The assay is particularly useful for quickly typing donor tissue prior to transplantation.
