An ejector includes a shaft coupled to a passage formation member defining a refrigerant passage inside a body, and the shaft is slidably supported by a support member fixed to the body. A drive mechanism moves the shaft in an axial direction to change a passage sectional area of the refrigerant passage. The passage formation member is provided with a vibration suppressive member including a first mobile end that applies a load to enlarge the refrigerant passage and a second mobile end that applies a load to narrow the refrigerant passage. Both the first mobile end and the second mobile end are disposed on a same side of a slide region of the support member in the axial direction.

Ejector

An actuator device includes an actuator member, a drive subject, a first drive device and a second drive device. The actuator member is configured to be deformed in response to application of energy to the actuator member from an outside. The drive subject is coupled to the actuator member. The first drive device is configured to apply the energy to the actuator member and thereby displace the drive subject in a deforming direction of the actuator member. The second drive device is configured to displace the drive subject in a different direction that is different from the deforming direction of the actuator member.

Actuator device and controller for the actuator device

An actuator device includes an actuator member, a drive subject, a drive device, and a tension applicator. The actuator member is configured to be deformed in response to application of energy to the actuator member from an outside of the actuator member. The drive subject is coupled to the actuator member. The drive device is configured to apply the energy to the actuator member and thereby displace the drive subject in a deforming direction of the actuator member. The tension applicator is configured to apply the actuator member a tension, which enables correction of a tension change generated by at least one of elongation and contraction of the actuator member that is induced by natural deformation of the actuator member.

Actuator device

A movable device includes an actuator element that deforms about an actuator axis in response to increase or decrease in energy of the actuator element. A driven body is coupled to the actuator element on the actuator axis and turned by deformation of the actuator element. A guide mechanism guides turning of the driven body about a turning axis coaxial with the actuator axis such that torsional deformation of the actuator element is directly transferred to the turning of the driven body.

Movable device

An actuator that comprises a deformable material, an energy input part, and a characteristics change detection unit. The deformable material is configured with a polymer fiber and, by deforming in response to energy input from the outside, outputs motive power. The energy input part inputs energy to the deformable material. The characteristics change detection unit detects when the deformation characteristic of the deformable material has changed. The actuator also comprises a drive control unit that, by controlling the above-described energy, controls the output of the deformable material. When the characteristic change detection unit detects a change in the deformation characteristic, the drive control unit controls the energy in accordance with the change in the deformation characteristic.

Deformable polymer fiber actuator, sensor device and control device

An occupant detection system may detect a state of an occupant in a vehicle compartment. The occupant detection system may photograph the vehicle compartment and generate an image. The occupant detection system may change an attitude in order to change a position of an imaging region within the vehicle compartment. The occupant detection system may estimate the attitude based on information included in the image and control an operation based on the estimated attitude. The sensor may be provided by an infrared temperature sensor. The image may be provided by a thermal image showing a temperature distribution of the vehicle compartment. The occupant detection system may store a correspondence relationship between a position of a specific temperature boundary included in the thermal image and the attitude. The occupant detection system may estimate the attitude based on the correspondence relationship.

Occupant detection system

In a pulley apparatus, belt supporting portions of belt support pieces, which support a belt from a radially inside thereof, are arranged along a circumferential direction of a power shaft and each have a predetermined circumferential length. In a pulley driven mode, the belt support pieces rotate about corresponding first supporting members in a direction making the belt supporting portions become closer to the power shaft with second supporting members being relatively moved in corresponding elongated holes toward radially outer ends thereof, causing the belt supporting portions to be reduced in radius. In a pulley driving mode, the belt support pieces rotate about the corresponding first supporting members in a direction making the belt supporting portions become further from the power shaft with the second supporting members being relatively moved in the corresponding elongated holes toward radially inner ends thereof, causing the belt supporting portions to be increased in radius.

An occupant detection system includes a state detection unit that detects a state of an object, a detection position changing unit that changes a position of a detection region, the detection region being a region in which state is detected by the state detection unit, and a controller that controls an operation of the detection position changing unit. In this occupant detection system, a position of the detection region is set to a predetermined initial position during a period of time from when a start switch provided in the vehicle is turned off until when the start switch is turned on.

Occupant detection system, and vehicular air conditioner having the same

In an ejector, formed in a body is a swirling space which lets a high-pressure refrigerant flowing from a refrigerant inlet port swirl and introduces the swirling high-pressure refrigerant into a depressurizing space in which the swirled high-pressure refrigerant is depressurized and expanded. A passage formation member that defines a nozzle passage and a diffuser passage is shaped to have a cross-sectional area increasing with distance from the depressurizing space. Further, a temperature sensing unit of a drive device that displaces the passage formation member is housed in the body, and the temperature sensing unit and a diaphragm have annular shapes to surround at least the axial line of the passage formation member.

Ejector with temperature-sensitive drive device

An ejector has a swirling space, a pressure reducing space, a suction passage, a pressure increasing space, a nozzle passage, a diffuser passage, a passage forming member that forms the nozzle passage and the diffuser passage, and a vibration suppressing portion that suppresses a vibration of the passage forming member. The vibration suppressing portion has (i) a first elastic member that applies a load to the passage forming member in a direction in which an area of a cross section perpendicular to the direction of the central axis of the nozzle passage and the diffuser passage decreases and (ii) a second elastic member that applies a load to the passage forming member in a direction opposite from the direction in which the first elastic member applies the load to the passage forming member.

A planetary gear device is provided between a driving wheel and an energy accumulating device. A sun gear of the planetary gear device is connected to an input shaft of the energy accumulating device. A carrier of the planetary gear device is connected to the driving wheel. A torque adjusting device is connected to a ring gear of the planetary gear device. When a regeneration control is not carried out, the torque adjusting device is controlled by a control unit, so that a braking torque generated at the torque adjusting device and applied to the ring gear is controlled in order to make a difference of a rotational speed at a smaller value between the input shaft and the sun gear.

Power transmitting apparatus for vehicle

In a gas compression apparatus, a space () between oil seals () and bearings () is adapted to communicate with a low pressure lead hole () open to the atmosphere through a blow-down lead hole (). The low pressure lead hole is opened/closed by an on-off valve () arranged on the side of the blow-down lead hole nearer to the low pressure lead hole. As a result, when the gas compression apparatus stops operation, the internal pressures of the space () and a lubricant space () drop while the internal pressure of a compression chamber () drops. A valve body () thus moves down and opens the low pressure lead hole, so that the internal pressure of the lubricant space becomes substantially equal to the atmospheric pressure. Thus, the lubricant is prevented from leaking from the lubricant space into the compression chamber.

Gas compression apparatus capable of preventing lubricant leakage

Provided is a fuel cell system capable of activating a fuel cell even under low-temperature environments. The fuel cell system detects an outside air temperature in the vicinity of the fuel cell to, after the fuel cell enters a deactivated state, estimate a transition of outside air temperature on the basis of a variation of the detected outside air temperature, and makes a decision as to whether or not the estimated outside air temperature falls below a predetermined freezing temperature at which moisture freezes. When a decision is made that the estimated outside air temperature falls below the predetermined freezing temperature, freezing prevention processing is conducted to prevent moisture from freezing in the interior of the fuel cell. The estimation of the outside air temperature transition is made by time-differentiating a variation of outside air temperature.

Fuel cell system

A cooling device for cooling a heat-generating member includes a refrigerant tank for boiling liquid refrigerant by heat from the heat-generating member and a radiator for cooling and condensing gas refrigerant from the refrigerant tank. The refrigerant tank has therein a plurality of refrigerant passages defined by ribs which are integrally formed with any one of opposite wall parts of the refrigerant tank. The ribs continuously extend in an up-down direction to be slightly longer than an up-down dimension of a boiling surface of the refrigerant tank. In the cooling device, because each passage width of the refrigerant passages is set to be equal to or smaller than double Laplace length, an outer diameter of bubbles in the refrigerant passages becomes larger, and liquid refrigerant can be moved upwardly by bubbles. Accordingly, it can restrict liquid refrigerant surface from being lowered even when gas-generating amount is increased.

Cooling device boiling and condensing refrigerant

A cooling apparatus includes a refrigerant tank containing boiling and condensing refrigerant and a radiator for cooling the refrigerant. The radiator is connected to the refrigerant tank on a front surface thereof, and hot objects to be cooled are attached to a heat-receiving surface formed on a rear surface of the refrigerant tank. The refrigerant is circulated in the apparatus so that the refrigerant is vaporized in the refrigerant tank and condensed in the radiator. The radiator is connected to the refrigerant tank by inserting a pair of header tanks thereof into the refrigerant tank. The insertion length is controlled to obtain good heat conductivity between the radiator and the refrigerant tank and to avoid deformation of a radiator fin contacting the refrigerant tank. Holes for mounting a substrate carrying the hot objects may be made on enlarged portions of a cover plate closing the refrigerant tank. The heat-receiving surface may be elevated from the rear surface of the refrigerant tank to avoid interference between other components mounted on the substrate and the rear surface of the refrigerant tank.
