An adapter mounting structure for mounting, on a rack, a plurality of adapters to which optical connectors are connected. The adapter mounting structure includes a first panel including insertion holes through which the plurality of adapters are inserted, the first panel being configured to expose, to a front side of the rack, the plurality of adapters thus inserted and being anchored to the rack, and a second panel disposed to a rear side of the rack relative to the first panel, the second panel being anchored to the first panel and being configured to anchor each of the plurality of adapters.

Adapter mounting structure

A tray unit includes: a plurality of trays each of which has a protrusion at a side end portion thereof; and a pair of frames vertically provided with a plurality tiers of rail portions, the plurality of tiers of rail portions accommodating the plurality of trays in a slidable manner in a horizontal direction. And the rail portion at each tier include a clamp on a surface facing the side end portion of the tray, the clamps in the plurality of tiers are aligned in a vertical direction, the clamp has an opening to which the protrusion is fittable, and when the side end portion of the tray move to a predetermined position with respect to the rail portion, the clamp is elastically deformed in the vertical direction of the rail portion, and the protrusion is fitted into the opening.

Tray unit

A bracket for attaching an optical unit to a rack is provided. The bracket comprises a bracket body and a fastener. The bracket body has a first wall including a first face and a second face opposite to the first face, and a protrusion extending in a direction intersecting with the first wall from the second face against the first face. The bracket body is provided with a hole penetrating through the first wall from the first face to the second face. The fastener is arranged to pass through the hole on the first wall and is configured to be rotatable with respect to the first wall. The fastener has a first hook including a holding surface substantially parallel to the second face. The holding surface of the first hook faces the second face to define a first gap between the holding surface and the second face of the first wall at least when the fastener rotates from an initial position to a first locking position.

Each of optical fibers has a core and stress applying members disposed around the core. End portions of the optical fibers are mounted on a fusion-splicing apparatus, and aligned through the image observation from two different lateral directions of the optical fibers. Then, a distance between positions of a bright portion end and a luminance peak closest to the bright portion end is obtained on each bright portion end of a luminance distribution of the optical fiber obtained from at least one picked-up image. The optical fibers are fusion-spliced by aligning the stress applying members so that the sum of the distances is adjusted to be minimum. Alternatively, a distance between positions of the luminance peaks respectively closest to the respective bright portion ends is obtained and the optical fibers are fusion-spliced by aligning the stress applying members so that the distance is adjusted to be maximum.
