A method for manufacturing a display, the method including the steps of: disposing a substrate over which a plurality of lower electrodes and a plurality of auxiliary electrodes are formed and a donor film over which a light-emitting functional layer is formed so that the light-emitting functional layer contacts with the lower electrodes and does not contact with the auxiliary electrodes; irradiating the donor film with an energy beam to selectively transfer the light-emitting functional layer onto the lower electrodes; and forming an upper electrode that covers the light-emitting functional layer and the auxiliary electrodes.

An organic electroluminescence device including a lower electrode disposed on a substrate, an organic layer having at least a light emission layer and disposed above the lower electrode, and upper electrode having a transparent conductive film and disposed above the organic layer, in which the device has an electron injecting layer between the organic layer and the upper electrode. The electron injecting layer has a buffer layer comprising an insulative material and a mixed layer comprising an organic material that has an electron transporting property and a metal material that has an electron injecting property.

Organic electroluminescence device

A display device and a method for manufacturing the display device are provided. The display device includes an organic layer on an auxiliary wiring is removed with high precision by one operation and, thereby, the yield and the productivity are improved. A lower electrode is formed by patterning in each pixel on a substrate. An auxiliary wiring including a light absorption layer is formed between individual pixels. An organic layer is formed on the substrate while covering the lower electrodes. Laser irradiation is conducted from the organic layer side, the laser light is converted to heat in the light absorption layer exposed at a portion under the organic layer, and the organic layer portion above the light absorption layer is removed selectively. An upper electrode is formed on the organic layer and is connected to the light absorption layer portion of the auxiliary wiring.

Disclosed herein is a method for manufacturing a display, the method including the steps of: disposing a substrate over which a plurality of lower electrodes and a plurality of auxiliary electrodes are formed and a donor film over which a light-emitting functional layer is formed so that the light-emitting functional layer contacts with the lower electrodes and does not contact with the auxiliary electrodes; irradiating the donor film with an energy beam to selectively transfer the light-emitting functional layer onto the lower electrodes; and forming an upper electrode that covers the light-emitting functional layer and the auxiliary electrodes.

In a display device having a plurality of organic electroluminescence devices arranged on a substrate, each of the devices including a lower electrode, an organic layer at least containing a light emitting layer, and an upper electrode in this order, the light emitting layer of at least some of the organic electroluminescence devices has a first light emitting layer formed by vapor deposition and a second light emitting layer formed by thermal transfer, and the first light emitting layer emits light whose wavelength is equal to or shorter than that of blue light.

The method includes the steps of: forming a bottom electrode for supplying a first charge, in individual pixels on a substrate; forming a pattern of a first light-emitting layer having a first-charge transport property above the bottom electrode in part of the pixels; subjecting the substrate having the first light-emitting layer formed thereon to heat treatment; forming a pattern of a second light-emitting layer having a second-charge transport property on the heat-treated surface above the bottom electrode in the other pixels; and forming a top electrode for supplying a second charge so that the first light-emitting layer and the second light-emitting layer are sandwiched between the bottom electrode and the top electrode.

An organic electroluminescent device comprising an organic layer at least having a light emission layer provided between an anode and a cathode, wherein the anode has at least one layer comprised of an alloy containing aluminum as a main ingredient, and the alloy contains at least one element whose work function is relatively smaller than that of the main ingredient as a secondary ingredient, the device being relatively inexpensive, having high reliability and capable of reducing disconnection due to hillock or migration.

A display unit and method of fabricating same are provided. The display unit includes a plurality of organic electroluminescent devices, each including an organic layer portion including at least a hole-transport layer and a luminescent layer which are stacked each other, and two electrodes sandwiching the organic layer portion. The luminescent layers of the individual organic electroluminescent devices have different thicknesses. The luminescent layer in each organic electroluminescent device contains an organic material having substantially the same HOMO level as that of a hole-transporting material constituting the hole-transport layer, the content of the organic material being set according to the thickness of the luminescent layer.

A display device having a light-emitting element which has a lower electrode, an upper electrode, a functional layer, and a cavity in which light generated in the functional layer is resonated wherein the optical distance of the cavity portion in a first light-emitting element is made equal with the optical distance of the cavity portion in a second light-emitting element, and the optical distance of the cavity portion in the first light-emitting element is different from the optical distance of the cavity portion in a third light-emitting element.
