A train monitoring device includes an obtaining unit to obtain device status information, a monitoring unit including an event detection definition, and an event detection program to interpret the event detection definition and check whether an event has occurred. When the event detection program monitors the status of the device, a first program included in the event detection program interprets and executes an intermediate language representation included in the event detection definition, and a second program included in the event detection program determines whether an event has occurred by using area information and storage information about a memory having stored therein a value that indicates whether an event has occurred, the area information and the storage information being included in the event detection definition. An output unit outputs an alarm indicating that the device is an anomalous status when the monitoring unit detects an anomaly in the device.

A vehicle information management device that executes control of charging a storage battery with power generated in a train, the vehicle information management device includes an information obtainer to obtain information on a current operational state of the train, a storage to store charging control information therein, where in the charging control information, control contents of charging the storage battery with power generated by using an engine to be installed in the train are set correspondingly to an operational state of the train, and a controller to obtain charging control information that matches the current operational state of the train from the storage, and to control charging of the storage battery on the basis of the charging control information obtained.

A plurality of apparatuses mounted on cars are monitored and controlled by control devices mounted on the cars. A display device capable of displaying apparatus information of the apparatuses is mounted on a driver's cab. A display screen of the display device is configured by arranging a plurality of display components by which apparatus information of each of the apparatuses can be displayed. A software generating device determines arrangement positions of the display components arranged on the display screen, automatically generates layout design data of the display screen, and automatically generates software for generating the display screen on the basis of the layout design data. The arrangement positions of the display components respectively representing the apparatuses when a number of apparatuses of the same type are monitored and controlled by one and the same control device are determined according to arrangement rule information that is exceptional rules.
