A device is configured to set the toe-in of wheels of motor vehicles, especially in the case of unsteered axles of motor vehicles. Both the toe-in and the tilt of the toe-in curve are adjustable. Adjusting disks can be fixed with respect to supporting surfaces of the support arms in two positions apart. A kingbolt with associated guides in the adjusting disks assume different elevations with respect to an approximately horizontal reference plane containing the rotational axis.

A bearing arrangement of a rear axle transmission case of a motor vehicle has a member frame having one respective linking at both ends of the transmission case situated in the driving direction which acts elastically in at least one direction. I order to have a softer construction with respect to its elasticity in the driving direction than in all other directions. The bearing takes place at least on one of the two ends of the transmission case exclusively by way of at least one lever which can be swivelled in a plane in parallel with respect to the vertical and longitudinal axis of the vehicle and which is linked in the direction of the vertical vehicle axis in mutually spaced positions to the transmission case and in the member frame. In this case at least the bearing arrangement of the lever in the member frame is implemented by means of at least one elastic bearing.

Bearing arrangement of an axle transmission case of a motor vehicle

A rear axle for a motor vehicle has a control arm which is pivotally connected to the vehicle body so that it can be rotated about an axis extending transversely with respect to the longitudinal center plane of the vehicle. The control arm extends against the forward driving direction and a wheel is disposed on its end facing away from the control arm bearing. A supporting strut is also provided which, by means of its one end in the area close to the wheel, is connected with the control arm, the distance of the end of the supporting strut close to the wheel to the longitudinal axis of the control arm not being larger than the distance of a linking point of the supporting strut away from the wheel to the longitudinal axis of the control arm. For simplifying the manufacturing as well as the mounting of the rear axle, it is provided that the end of the supporting strut away from the wheel in the area of the control arm is linked directly to the control arm and both ends of the supporting strut are rigidly connected with the control arm.

Rear axle for a motor vehicle

A supporting bearing for resiliently supporting parts to be connected to one another, such as the body and rear axle housing of a motor vehicle, includes two bearing parts to be arranged on mutually opposite bearing surfaces of one part, coaxially to a bore traversing the latter. These bearing parts are each equipped with an annular elastomer element arranged between two supporting parts and can be clamped to the part in which the bore has been made using a clamping bolt traversing the bearing parts and the bore with radial clearance. The elastomer elements of the two bearing parts are, on the one hand, vulcanized to one of the supporting parts accommodating them between them and, on the other hand, rest on the other supporting part by an integrally formed surface region projecting at their free front face.

Two side pieces, each assigned to one longitudinal side of the vehicle, of rear axle supports for passenger vehicles are customarily connected to one another by two transverse tie bars arranged at a distance from one another, In a known type of vehicle, the rearward transverse tie bar, which is designed to be flexible, as seen in the direction of travel, is provided in front of a body cross-member which is directly adjacent to a spare wheel pan, near the rear crumple zone of the body at the floor. In the case of a crash, the spare wheel strikes the rearward transverse tie bar via the spare wheel pan. To increase this crumple zone in the body floor region, the rearward transverse tie bar is provided with lateral clearance between the body cross-member and the spare wheel pan. The body cross-member can thus be arranged at a correspondingly large distance from the spare wheel pan, and a corresponding free path for the spare wheel can be achieved. The profile of the rearward transverse tie bar, which is flexible in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, will not form a stop unfavorably influencing the desired deformation in the rearward floor region.

A coupling arrangement for two axially aligned shaft sections is obtained through two splined profiles, one attached to each shaft through a tensioning arrangement that eliminates relative rotation between the two shaft sections while permitting longitudinal movement therebetween. One shaft section connected to one end of the tensioning device and the other shaft section connected to another end of the tensioning device and wherein the other end of the tensioning device operates to cause one of the splined profiles which is slotted to grasp the other splined section to provide for the relative non-rotational drive and the axial longitudinal shifting of the shaft sections.

This invention relates to a suspension of an axle gear casing for motor vehicles comprising at least two elastic suspension elements, with one of the suspension elements arranged in front of the axle shaft and the other one arranged behind the axle shaft, in alignment with one another in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and offset to the side of the longitudinal axis of the gear casing, wherein coordination of the stiffnesses of the suspension elements causes a rotating movement of the axle gear casing opposing a movement of the axle gear casing that occurs under the influence of the driving reaction moment from the vehicle wheels and engine drive and which normally shifts the front end of the casing correspondingly in the upward direction to maintain the position of the drive shaft of the axle gear with respect to a center of a flexible disk of a driving cardan shaft to ensure that a change of angle between the drive shaft and the cardan shaft is limited to a tolerable extent.

Suspension of an axle gear casing for motor vehicles

A fuel tank, especially for motor vehicles, includes two shaped shells which include a shell bottom, shell walls and a continuous shell rim, the shell rims of the shaped shells being adapted to be welded together to thereby form a composite fuel tank structure. At least one of the bottoms of one of the shaped shells which forms one of the side walls of the composite fuel tank structure is provided with reinforcing ribs and an outwardly protruding bulge. Additionally, the bottom of the composite tank structure formed by a wall of one of the shaped shells includes a bulge. The bulges form flexurally soft deformation zone extending generally at right angles to the reinforcing ribs and generally parallel to a portion of the shell rim which extends generally parallel to the bottom of the composite tank for absorbing stresses.

Motor vehicle fuel tank

A fuel tank of a synthetic resinous material, especially for motor vehicles, with a connecting socket of a synthetic resinous material arranged in a lower zone of the fuel tank. The connecting socket is provided on its outside wall with a metal sleeve. The metal sleeve freely projects into an interior of a fuel tank and terminates beyond an inner end of the connecting socket. An outer end of the metal sleeve is set back or axially spaced from an outer end of the connecting socket.

A tank closure mechanism, especially for a fuel tank of an automotive vehicle, with a locking tube pertaining to the cap proper and including a pressure plate and a gasket. The locking tube is rotatable by rotating the cap housing during locking operation of the cap by a latch of a lock cylinder but remains stationary after an unlocking during a rotation of the cap housing. A clamping ring exerting a tightening clamp is rotatable together with the locking tube. A compression spring of a bayonet catch presses against the clamping ring with the spring being supported on the cap and the pressure plate. The locking tube and pressure plate are fashioned so as to be bi-partite and the pressure plate extends over the locking tube with a sliding fit or the like.

A connecting element for wheel suspensions of motor vehicles which is arranged between a cross guide member and a support rod; the connecting element includes a clamping bolt approximately perpendicular to the axes of the support rod and of the cross guide member and two clamping cones whereby the end of the support rod traversed by the clamping bolt is disposed between the clamping cones; the clamping cones are supported with their outer surfaces each by way of an elastic intermediate layer at the corresponding cone surfaces of a mounting opening provided in the cross guide member.
