A coin discrimination apparatus according to the present invention which discriminates a bimetallic coin having a ring part, and a core part provided on an inner side of the ring part and composed of a different material from that of the ring part, includes: a conveyor which conveys the bimetallic coin; a ring sensor which is arranged at a position where only the ring part of the bimetallic coin conveyed by the conveyor transits, and which detects magnetic properties; and a core sensor which is arranged at a position where the core part of the bimetallic coin conveyed by the conveyor transit, and which detects magnetic properties.

Coin discrimination apparatus

A coin bar storage of the invention includes: a casing; a coin bar tray that is provided in the casing so as to be drawn out from and stored into the casing, and that has a plurality of set sections in which set coin types are respectively pre-set to assign a coin type to each of the set sections; a set coin type presence confirmation section that is provided in all of the set sections of the coin bar tray, that respectively confirms whether or not coin bars of the set coin types is set, and that outputs a confirmation result; and a management section that manages a present amount of coin bars in the coin bar tray based on the confirmation result from the set coin type presence confirmation section.

A coin handling machine includes a coin sorting passage formed with a reference guide rail, a sensor for detecting optical properties and magnetic properties of the coins, a coin sorting opening along the inner wall of the reference guide rail and a coin sorting member provided in the vicinity of a side portion of the coin sorting opening on the side of the reference guide rail, the coin sorting member including a coin supporting section having a coin supporting surface for supporting one edge portion of the coin being transported in the coin sorting passage and a coin press section for pressing the coin, and it further includes a rotary solenoid for moving the coin supporting section between a coin support position where the coin supporting surface can support one edge portion of the coin being transported in the coin sorting passage and a retracted position where the coin supporting surface cannot support the coin and moving the coin press section so as to press the coin downward in synchronism with the movement of the coin supporting surface to the retracted position and a controller for driving the rotary solenoid based on detection signals from the sensor. The thus constituted coin handling machine can reliably drop a predetermined coin among coins fed into the coin sorting passage in the coin sorting opening, thereby sorting it without making the machine large.

The coin-type determining device, for determining the presence or absence of inclined notches formed on the circumferential surface of the coin transferred through a coin transfer path, comprises: a plurality of notch detecting devices provided separately from each other with respect to an axis of the coin; a determining device for determining the presence or absence of inclined notches based on the difference between the notch detection results by the notch detecting devices.

A coin discriminating apparatus includes a coin passage member, a first transporting belt disposed above the coin passage member, thereby transporting it, a first light source, a first light detector, a second transporting belt for supporting the lower surface of the coin, a coin passage forming member disposed above the second transporting belt, a second light source, a second light detector, a first pattern data memory for storing the pattern data of the lower surface of the coin, a second pattern data memory for storing the pattern data of the upper surface of the coin, a reference pattern data memory for storing reference pattern data of coins of each denomination, a discriminator for comparing the pattern data of the lower surface of the coin with the reference pattern data of coins of each denomination and comparing the pattern data of the upper surface of the coin with the reference pattern data of coins of each denomination, thereby discriminating whether or not the coin is acceptable and the denomination of the coin.

A coin discriminating apparatus includes a first light source for projecting light onto one surface of a coin being transported, a second light source for projecting light onto the other surface of a coin being transported, a first light detector for photoelectrically receiving light emitted from the first light source and reflected by the one surface of the coin and producing image pattern data of the one surface of the coin, a first pattern data memory for storing the image pattern data of the one surface of the coin produced by the first light detector, a second light detector for photoelectrically receiving light emitted from the second light source and reflected by the other surface of the coin and producing image pattern data of the other surface of the coin, a second pattern data memory for storing the image pattern data of the other surface of the coin produced by the second light detecting means, a reference data memory for storing reference data of coins of each denomination, a discriminator for comparing the image pattern data of the one surface of the coin with the reference data of coins of each denomination and comparing the image pattern data of the other surface of the coin with the reference data of coins of each denomination, thereby discriminating whether or not the coin is acceptable and the denomination of the coin. According to the thus constituted coin discriminating apparatus, it is possible to discriminate whether or not coins are acceptable and the denominations of coins with high accuracy even when coins has a common pattern on one side surface thereof but a different pattern on the other side surface thereof like Euro coins.

A bill counting machine includes a holder for supporting bills thereon and suction heads for turning over the bills, one at a time, to count them. A projector is provided for emitting a ray of light onto the surface of each bill. A receptor is provided for detecting a ray of light reflected from the surface of the bill and for rectilinearly reading the surface pattern of the bill. The rectilinear reading allow judgments as to the denomination and obverse/reverse side of the bills.

Bill counting machine

Herein disclosed in a paper sheet counting machine which comprises: position detecting means for detecting that suction tubes are in a stand-by position and in a start position; vacuum pressure detecting means for detecting the vacuum pressure prevailing in the suction tubes; and a control unit for driving and controlling a counter motor, a holder motor and a pump motor in response to signals which are fed from the position detecting means and the vacuum pressure detecting means. When the holder is in an open position, the suction tube is set in the stand-by position. After the holder is set in a closed position, the suction tube is then set in the start position to block and seal its inside from the outside. Then, a vacuum pump is driven so that the counting operations are started when the vacuum pressure in the suction tube reaches a predetermined level.

Paper sheet counting machine

A multi-function type sheet counting machine capable of counting sheets under a desired operational mode selected from a plurality of operational modes. As the sheets to be counted are deflected one after another away from a stack of sheets, electrical count pulses corresponding to the number of deflected sheets are generated, and a count corresponding to the number of generated pulses is stored in a counter. A reset circuit is provided so that, at the time of changing over to the add mode from any other operational mode, the counter is automatically reset to clear the count previously stored in the counter.
