A control device for a matrix converter includes an input voltage detector, an output current detector, a pulse width modulator, and an input voltage command calculator. The input voltage detector is configured to detect an input voltage of the matrix converter. The output current detector is configured to detect an output current of the matrix converter. The pulse width modulator is configured to generate a PWM pulse command signal by using the input voltage, the output current, and an output line voltage command. The input voltage command calculator is configured to calculate an input voltage command of the matrix converter.

It is an object of the invention to provide a PWM inverter control method capable of causing a reduction in a noise and energy saving to be consistent with each other by the reduction in a noise and the limit of the number of switching operations. The invention provides a 2-level PWM inverter control method, in which switching of switching units connected in series is limited by setting the number of switching operations and a timing to output an optional voltage in order not to converge a frequency component of a noise caused by the switching and setting a lower limit to the number of switching operations in order to prevent the number of switching operations from being excessively decreased in that case when an operation frequency of an inverter is low, and increasing the number of switching operations and a set value of the timing in a constant ratio to the operation frequency and setting an upper limit to the number of switching operations in such a manner that the number of switching operations does not exceed a certain set value when the operation frequency of the inverter is increased.

PWM inverter control method

It is an object of the invention to provide a multilevel PWM inverter control apparatus capable of safely carrying out switching from a normal operation to a protecting operation and performing a reset from the protecting operation to the normal run safely and smoothly without requiring a complicated control algorithm. In the invention, if a current value I which is measured is set to have a level which is equal to or higher than the level of a first reference value Iand is lower than the level of a second reference value I, a zero vector to be started from an OOO state in which an intermediate potential is output for all of phases is output (Step). If the current value I is set to have a level which is equal to or higher than the level of the second reference value Iand is lower than the level of a third reference value I, a base block operation for bringing all of switching units into an OFF state is carried out after outputting the zero vector (Step). If the current value I is equal to or greater than the third reference value I, an emergency stop is carried out (Step). When a reset to a normal operation is carried out after the execution of the base block operation, the reset to the normal operation is performed after the execution of the operation for outputting the zero vector.

Then, the existence, or non-existence, of a distribution tip left behind on the tip rack without being attached to a distribution nozzle after the fitting operation is finished is detected by a detection section formed of an interrupting-type light sensor, the targeted place of detection by the light sensor being the lower end of the distribution tip. Under the above-described structure, misfitting of a distribution tip can be detected with a high certainty at an early stage before an operation for sucking/discharging liquids is started.
