Two manual controllers are connected to two slots of an entertainment apparatus via connectors, respectively. One of the manual controllers is manipulated as a manual input device by a user. The other manual controller is placed upside down on a table, for example, and moves by vibrations so as to functions as a movable object (movable device). The user can move the movable device synchronously with the movement of an object displayed on a display monitor by manipulating the manual controller.

An entertainment system comprises story developing means for allowing a player to a virtually experience a cocking operation in a kitchen of a restaurant registered with a restaurant information table from opening time to closing time of the restaurant, three-minute cooking processing means for allowing a player to virtually experience a cooking operation in a kitchen of a restaurant registered with the restaurant information table for a predetermined time period (for example, three minutes), and competition processing means for allowing a player to virtually experience a cooking operation in a kitchen of a restaurant registered with the restaurant information table, while playing a match game with a plurality of other players.

An entertainment system has an entertainment apparatus for executing various programs, a manual controller for entering manual control requests from a user into the entertainment apparatus, a monitor for displaying images outputted from the entertainment apparatus, and a speaker for outputting sounds outputted from the entertainment apparatus. The manual controller has motors for imparting vibrations to the user in response to an external request. The entertainment system also has a vibration/sound setting unit for setting up a length of a bar displayed on the monitor according to a control input from the manual controller, setting up a magnitude of vibrations to be generated by the motors depending on the length of the bar, and setting up a type and/or a pitch of sound to be outputted to the speaker depending on the length of the bar.
