A developing unit has an initial developer container containing an initial developer composed of toner and carrier, joined pivotally with a pin to a toner container having an initial developer inlet opening and defining a developing chamber. Provided in one wall of the developer container is an initial developer outlet opening. In an initial state, the initial developer outlet opening is closed by one wall of the toner container, so that the mixed toner contained in the initial developer container will not spill. When a toner supply cartridge is inserted in the developing unit, the toner supply cartridge turns the initial developer container downward on the pin to a position where the initial developer outlet opening of the initial developer container coincides with the initial developer inlet opening of the toner container. This allows the initial developer contained in the initial developer container to flow into the developing chamber. Thus, the initial developer can be supplied into the developing chamber by a simple action without soiling the operator's hands.

Developer unit and method of supplying developer

An image forming apparatus in which probability of sheet jamming is reduced and jammed sheet can be easily removed. The apparatus is provided with a guide plate, a movable guide plate defining a sheet feed passage therebetween, and a first sheet feed roller. A detachable sheet cassette is provided for attachment to a main body portion of the apparatus. In the sheet cassette, are provided a second sheet feed roller and a leaf spring which urges the second sheet feed roller toward the first sheet feed roller when the sheet cassette is attached to the main body portion. The sheet feed passage is opened by pivotal movement of the movable guide plate when the sheet cassette is detached from the main body portion, to thereby facilitate removal of the jamming sheet from the sheet feed passage.

A sheet feeding device used for an image forming device which has a print part, such as the laser printer. A control part drives a separation roller installed under the print part and the paper supplying roller and supplies the printing paper to a resist roller individually. When a predetermined time passes afterwards, the control part drives the resist roller and transports the printing paper to the print part. In this case, a curve part enables miniaturization of the entire device as a result of being installed in a vertical part of the sheet guide.

A recording apparatus for recording information on a continuous rolled recording medium, said recording apparatus comprising a fixed unit and a movable unit. The continuous rolled recording medium is exchangeable in the open position of said movable unit. A printing head is located in either of said fixed unit or said movable unit and a platen is located in the remaining unit. A pair of feed rollers are located downstream of said printing head and said platen with respect to a feeding direction of said recording medium. One of said feed rollers located in said fixed unit is displaceable between a contact position contacting with the other feed roller located in said movable unit when said movable unit is in the closed position and a release position separate from the other feed roller outside a locus of an outer profile of said movable unit. When said movable unit is closed an end portion of said continuous rolled recording medium can be set between said printing head and said platen and between said pair of feed rollers.
