Provided is a polycarbonate-based resin composition for sliding use including 0.01 to 1 part by mass of an antioxidant with respect to 100 parts by mass of a polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymer which has structural units represented by a general formula (A) and structural units represented by a general formula (B), which contains a polyorganosiloxane block moiety containing the structural units represented by the general formula (B) at a content of 1 to 30 mass %, and which has an average repetition number of the structural units represented by the general formula (B) of 110 to 1000. The polycarbonate-based resin composition for sliding use has a specific structure having improved wear resistance, in particular, improved sliding property. Also provided is a molded article using the resin composition, and excellent in wear resistance and sliding property.

A process for producing an electrolessly plated molded article, which includes molding a resin composition made of a thermoplastic resin having a specific Izod impact strength and a Rockwell surface hardness and an inorganic filler, then treating the surface of the molded article with air blast using an abrasive having a sharp granular shape, and then conducting catalyst coating, activation treatment and electroless plating. It has been possible to apply the electroless plating with a high adhesion strength to the molded article of the thermoplastic resin composition without conducting the chemical etching treatment.

Disclosed are slide members for parts to be in contact with magnetic tape, which are made of polyarylenesulfide resin compositions comprising from 20 to 40% by weight of a polyarylenesulfide resin optionally combined with an amorphous, thermoplastic resin, and from 60 to 80% by weight of calcium metasilicate whiskers having a mean fiber diameter of not larger than 5 .mu.m and a mean aspect ratio of not smaller than 5, optionally combined with an inorganic filler. While being shaped, the resin compositions have good fluidity. The slide members are used in electric and electronic devices as the parts to be in contact with magnetic tape, for example, as VTR cylinders (drums). The slide members have high mechanical strength and good dimensional stability, and have good slidability with magnetic tape.

A food packaging container having a flanged container body of a laminate sheet which comprises a layer of aluminum foil and at leasat one thermoplastic resin layer joined to one surface of the foil layer. The container body is prepared by deep-drawing the laminate sheet with the resin layer inside. The aluminum foil is 40-200 .mu.m in thickness, 9.0-25.0 kgf/mm.sup.2 in tensile strength, 2.5-9.5 kgf/mm.sup.2 in proof stress, 10 to 40% in elongation and up to 7% in earing ratio. The resin layer comprises a thermoplastic resin 100-500 .mu.m in thicknes, 0.92-1.08 in the ratio of modulus of elasticity in tension in the machine directon (MD) to that in the transverse direction (TD), 0.60-1.40 in the MD/TD ratio of elongation and 0.40-1.60 in the MD/TD ratio of breaking strength.
