The exhaust gas purification controller is applied to a system with a catalyst and a supply valve for urea water. The exhaust gas purification controller performs an abnormality diagnosis of the supply valve, and includes a urea water filling portion, a valve opening command portion and an abnormality determiner. The urea water filling portion drives the pump at a start of operation of the exhaust gas purification system to start filling the supply passage with the urea water. The valve opening command portion outputs a valve opening command when a urea water pressure in the supply passage exceeds a predetermined valve opening pressure after filling the supply passage is started. The abnormality determiner determines presence or absence of a sticking abnormality of the supply valve based on the urea water pressure after the output of the valve opening command.

Exhaust gas purification control device

A urea water supply system includes: a first supply valve for supplying urea water; a second supply valve for supplying urea water; a supply passage for connecting a urea water tank and the first and the second supply valves; and an electronic control unit (ECU). The supply passage branches to have a first supply passage extending from a branch point to the first supply valve and a second supply passage extending from the branch point to the second supply valve, and a volume of the first supply passage is greater than a volume of the second supply passage. The ECU opens the first supply valve while keeping the second supply valve closed, for starting filling of the supply passage with urea water, and thereafter determines completion of filling of urea water into the first supply passage.

Urea water supply system

An abnormality determination device is used in an exhaust gas purification system. The exhaust gas purification system is disposed in an exhaust gas passage of an internal-combustion engine and includes an injection valve for injecting a liquid reducing agent to a NOpurification catalyst for purifying NOin an exhaust gas, and a pump for pressurizing and supplying the reducing agent to the injection valve via a reducing agent passage. The abnormality determination device includes an acquisition section acquiring a rotation speed of the pump when the injection valve is injecting the reducing agent as an injection time rotation speed; and a determiner determining whether the injection valve has an abnormality based on the injection time rotation speed.

Abnormality determination device

An injection controller that is applied to an exhaust purification system including an injector that is located in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and injects to supply a reducing agent in a liquid state to a NOx purification catalyst purifying NOx in an exhaust gas, and a pump that pressurizes and pumps the reducing agent to the injector through a reducing-agent passage. The injection controller includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire a variation quantity of a rotational speed of the pump caused in response to an injection of the injector or a correlation value that is a value correlative to the variation quantity, as a rotational variation parameter, and a determination unit configured to determine whether an air mixing exists in the reducing-agent passage based on the rotational variation parameter.

Injection controller

A low pressure EGR regulating valve is driven by an electric actuator, and an output of the electric actuator is transmitted to an intake air throttle valve through a link device. An ECU executes a failure determination to determine presence of a failure in a case where a sensed opening degree, which is sensed with a low pressure EGR opening degree sensor, is other than an opening degree that corresponds to a maximum opening degree of the throttle valve limited by a mechanical stopper. The ECU executes the failure determination after the energization of the electric actuator is stopped in response to stopping of the engine.

Low pressure exhaust gas recirculation apparatus

A low pressure EGR system includes a low pressure EGR passage connecting a downstream portion of an exhaust gas cleaner disposed in an exhaust passage to an upstream portion of a supercharger compressor disposed in an intake passage. A device for trapping foreign particles contained in EGR gas to be recirculated is disposed in the low pressure EGR passage. The trapping device may be positioned lower than the passage connected thereto so that foreign particles drop into the device by their own weight. A cross-sectional area of the trapping device may be made larger than that of the passage so that the flow speed of the EGR gas is reduced in the trapping device and the foreign particles are easily trapped. A valve for closing the low pressure EGR passage may be disposed therein to stop EGR when malfunctions are detected in the exhaust gas cleaner or the supercharger.

Exhaust gas recirculation system for internal combustion engine

An exhaust recirculation apparatus is provided to an engine. A high-pressure EGR passage branches from upstream of a turbine of a turbocharger in an exhaust system for recirculating exhaust gas to downstream of a compressor of the turbocharger in an intake system. A high-pressure EGR regulating unit controls exhaust gas through the high-pressure EGR passage. A low-pressure EGR passage branches from downstream of the turbine in the exhaust system for recirculating exhaust gas to upstream of the compressor in the intake system. A low-pressure EGR regulating unit controls exhaust gas through the low-pressure EGR passage. A control unit feedback-controls the high-pressure EGR regulating unit, and open-controls the low-pressure EGR regulating unit when exhaust gas is recirculated through the high-pressure EGR passage and the low-pressure EGR passage. The control unit feedback-controls the low-pressure EGR regulating unit when exhaust gas is recirculated through only the low-pressure EGR passage.

Exhaust recirculation apparatus for engine and method for controlling the same

The fuel injection control apparatus includes a function of making a determination of whether learning conditions are satisfied to allow a fuel injection amount learning to be performed, a function of directing a commanded fuel injection amount in the fuel injection amount learning to a fuel injection valve if result of the determination is affirmative, a function of setting an upper limit value of an injection pressure in the fuel injection amount learning, a function of setting a target injection pressure in the fuel injection amount learning, a function of setting the injection pressure to the target injection pressure, a function of detecting an actual fuel injection amount, and a function of correcting an amount of fuel injected by the fuel injection valve on the basis of a difference between the commanded fuel injection amount and the actual fuel injection amount at the target injection pressure.

Fuel injection control apparatus

A fuel injection control device is disclosed that includes a fuel injection valve for performing a fuel injection event at an assumed fuel quantity. The device also includes a rotation detecting device for detecting a change in rotation amount of the output shaft. The device further includes a slip rate detection device for detecting a slip rate between the output shaft and the driven shaft. Also included is an actual fuel injection amount estimating device for estimating an actual fuel injection quantity during the fuel injection event based on the detected change in rotation and the detected slip rate. The device also includes a learning device for learning a deviation based on the difference between the estimated actual fuel injection quantity and the assumed fuel injection quantity. A related method is also disclosed.

Fuel injection control device

In a system, an actuator is linked to a valve rotatably installed in a passage through which gas flows. The actuator changes torque to be applied to the valve so as to adjust a rotational position of the valve based on a deviation between a current position and a target position. In the system, a first storing unit stores therein a first threshold. The first threshold is defined in a variation range within which a torque parameter is variable depending on change in the torque to be applied to the valve. The first threshold allows whether there is a possibility that an operation of the actuator is unstable. If the torque parameter substantially shifts either to or through the first threshold in the variation range, a restricting unit restricts variation in the torque parameter with the gas-flow being substantially kept through the passage.

Method and system for controlling an actuator to rotate a valve

A fuel injection control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided. A controller directs a fuel injector to spray a learning injection quantity of fuel and determines a resulting increase in speed of the engine. The controller determines the quantity of the fuel actually sprayed from the fuel injector based on the increase in speed of the engine and calculates a correction factor which compensates for a difference between the learning injection quantity and the actual injection quantity. The controller also determines a variation in load acting on a driving member of a torque transmission mechanism. When such a variation is great undesirably, the controller stops spraying the learning injection quantity. The controller may determine the increase in speed of the engine based on the degree of the variation in load. This ensures the accuracy in calculating the correction factor regardless of the variation in load.

Fuel injection control apparatus designed to compensate for deviation of quantity of fuel sprayed from fuel injector

A fuel injection controller calculates a difference between a rotation speed fluctuation amount of an engine in the case where an injection for learning is performed and the rotation speed fluctuation amount in the case where the injection for the learning is not performed as a rotation speed increase amount. The controller calculates an actual injection amount actually injected from an injector based on a rotation state of the engine. The controller calculates a difference between the actual injection amount and a command injection amount outputted to the injector as a characteristic deviation and corrects the command injection amount to reduce the characteristic deviation. The controller prohibits the correction of the command injection amount when a variation in the rotation speed increase amount is equal to or greater than a specified value.

Fuel injection controller for engine

A valve control device corrects a change rate of an opening degree of a valve in accordance with engine rotation speed when deposit elimination operation is performed. The valve control device corrects an inclination between a positive maximum opening degree and a negative maximum opening degree of the valve in accordance with the engine rotation speed when the deposit elimination operation is performed. Thus, when the engine rotation speed is low and a noise accompanying the deposit elimination operation becomes more audible, the change rate of the opening degree of the valve is reduced. As a result, the noise accompanying the deposit elimination operation is reduced and annoyance for vehicle occupants is reduced.

Valve control device reducing noise

If a user presses a clutch pedal to perform gear-shifting operation while a vehicle is traveling, a clutch disc, which has been engaged with a flywheel rotating with an engine, is brought to partial clutch engagement and slides on an end surface of the flywheel to generate friction. Thus, a first phenomenon in which a decreasing rate of the engine rotation speed rapidly increases occurs. Then, a second phenomenon in which the clutch disc is completely disengaged from the flywheel to eliminate the friction and the decreasing rate of the engine rotation speed returns to an original state occurs. If the first and second phenomena are detected successively when neither an engine side nor a power transmission system side transmits power for varying an engine rotation speed, it is determined that the clutch disc is disengaged.

Clutch state determining device

When a combustion mode of an engine is a diffuse combustion mode in which an initial rising inclination of a heat-release-rate is steep, an electronic control unit (ECU) calculates an ignition timing in which the heat-release-rate exceeds an ignition determining value. Thus, even if a cylinder pressure sensor has a gain deviation or an offset deviation, the ignition timing is accurately detected to control the injection start timing. When the combustion mode is a premix combustion mode in which the initial rising inclination of the heat-release-rate is moderate, a peak arising timing of the heat-release-rate is calculated. Thus, the peak arising timing is accurately detected to control the injection start timing.
