A power window device includes a driving unit which moves a plurality of window glasses of a vehicle respectively, an operation unit which has a plurality of switches corresponding to the plurality of window glasses and which is provided for driving the driving unit, and a control unit which controls the driving unit to move and open or close the window glasses in accordance with an operation on the operation unit. When a normal operation for operating any one of the plurality of window switches individually is performed, the control unit controls the driving unit to move only the window glass corresponding to the operated window switch. When a special operation which is different from the normal operation is performed on the window switches, the control unit controls the driving unit to move all the window glasses.

Power window device

An airbag is stored in a storage portion provided in a side of the seat back of a car seat and fixed to a side frame portion. The airbag is deployed and inflated by inflation gas that is supplied in response to an impact from a side of the seat back. The airbag displaces a cover main body of a cover sideways from the seat back with a hinge portion function as a pivot, so that the storage portion is opened. The airbag includes an upstream inflation portion, which forms a rear part and receives inflation gas, and a downstream inflation portion, which is located forward of the upstream inflation portion. The downstream inflation portion receives inflation gas via the upstream inflation portion. The upstream inflation portion has a front end that is located forward of a front end of the cover when the upstream inflation portion is inflated.

Side airbag apparatus

The present invention is applied to an airbag that is divided into a first inflation chamber and a second inflation chamber by a vertical partition having a communication hole. The airbag is folded to be turned into a storage form and stored in a storage portion located in the vicinity of a side of an occupant. The airbag is turned into the storage form by being subjected to first to third folding operations. In the first folding, an upper portion of the airbag in an uninflated and deployed state is folded back away from the occupant along a folding line that is inclined to be lower toward the front end. In the second folding, the airbag is folded from the front to the rear. In the third folding, an upper portion of the airbag is folded back away from the occupant.

An airbag apparatus has an airbag formed by sewing fabric portions together at peripheries thereof. A periphery sewn portion of the airbag has two terminals separated from each other. The terminals are formed by leaving sections of the peripheries of the fabric portions unsewn. A surrounding sewn portion is formed about each terminal of the periphery sewn portion. The airbag has a vent hole between the terminals. The opening of the vent hole is defined by vent hole defining sections, each of which is in one of the surrounding sewn portions. Position determining portions are provided in the margin of the airbag. Each surrounding sewn portion is formed in place with reference to the corresponding position determining portion. Each position determining portion is located father from the vent hole in the circumferential direction of the margin than the vent hole defining section of the corresponding surrounding sewn portion.

Airbag apparatus

A lateral partition is formed by a pair of structural fabric portions, each of which has a first peripheral portion and a second peripheral portion. The first peripheral portions of the structural fabric portions are each joined to one of main body fabric portions. The second peripheral portions of the structural fabric portions are joined to each other by a joint portion provided along the second peripheral portions. An inner tube extends over the upper inflation chamber and the lower inflation chamber, while intersecting with the lateral partition. A rear peripheral portion of a part of the inner tube is joined to the main body fabric portions by a part of the peripheral joint portion, and a front peripheral portion of the part is joined to the structural fabric portions by the joint portion.

A gas generator includes an inflator and a retainer. The retainer includes a holding portion, which partially covers the inflator. The inflator has an attaching protrusion for determining the position relative to the retainer. The retainer includes an engagement base and a tongue piece. The tongue piece extends in an axial direction of the inflator and from a position separated from the engagement base in the circumferential direction of the holding portion. The engagement base and the tongue piece each have an engagement portion. The engagement portions face each other to form an engagement space therebetween, into which the attaching protrusion enters. The engagement space has an inlet the width of which is less than the size of the positioning protrusion. When the inflator causes the positioning protrusion to increase the width of the inlet, the tongue piece is elastically deformed about a basal end of the tongue piece.

Gas generator and airbag apparatus

An airbag apparatus having an airbag, which is formed into a bag shape by sewing a base fabric, is disclosed. The airbag includes a seam having a first seam section and a second seam section, which is formed after the first seam section is formed. The second seam section has an extremity and an overlapped portion, which is a section between the extremity and an intersected portion. The first seam section has an end part, which includes an overlapping portion. The overlapping portion is located at a position inside of the overlapped portion of the second seam section and extends along the overlapped portion. The overlapping portion includes an intersecting portion, which intersects the intersected portion of the second seam section. The end part of the first seam section further includes an extension, which extends from the intersecting portion to a position that is outside of the second seam section.

In an airbag, an external wall composed of a flexible woven cloth is adhered and configured by extending a thick thread base cloth and a fine thread base cloth with threads of different thicknesses while performing heat pressing with a coating layer interposed between the thick thread base cloth and the fine thread base cloth. The coating layer is formed by applying a coating agent that forms the coating layer on the thick thread base cloth side in advance.

Airbag

Before a thorax protecting portion of an airbag is altered to a storage mode, at least a part above a gas supply port of the thorax protecting portion is folded along a folding line extending through a thickness limiting portion, so that the thorax protecting portion is partitioned into a main protecting portion, to which the inflation gas is supplied from the gas supply port, and an auxiliary protecting portion, to which the inflation gas is supplied via the main protecting portion. The thickness limiting portion has an arcuate portion that is curved to bulge rearward, and the thickness limiting portion is arranged in the thorax protecting portion such that the rear end of the arcuate portion is located in the auxiliary protecting portion.

When the relation of battery temperature Tb&#x3e;battery temperature Tbis satisfied, a temperature increase request for a power storage unit becomes relatively large. Therefore, a target power value P* for the power storage unit is determined with priority. The target power value P* is calculated by multiplying the required power value Ps* by a distribution ratio Pr(0.5&#x2266;distribution ratio Pr&#x2266;1.0) determined in accordance with temperature deviation between battery temperature Tband battery temperature Tb. The target power value P* is determined by subtracting the target power value P* from the required power value Ps*.

Power supply, system having a plurality of power storage units, vehicle using the same, and its control method

When the temperature of an engine and a main battery is low at the time of activating a vehicle system, an ECU starts the engine in advance and outputs a running permission signal after completion of engine startup. At this stage, the ECU suspends a defect diagnosis operation on a subsidiary load and feedback-controls the DC/DC converter by setting the voltage control value to a level lower than the output voltage from the subsidiary battery and at least the lower limit of the operating voltage of the ECU. The ECU feedback-controls the DC/DC converter by setting the voltage control value to a level of at least the output voltage of the subsidiary battery in response to completion of engine start-up. Then, the suspension of the defect diagnosis operation on the subsidiary load is canceled and a running permission signal is output.

Power supply control apparatus and method for hybrid vehicle

When power storage units and are both in a normal condition, system relays are maintained in an ON state. A converter performs a voltage conversion operation in accordance with a voltage control mode, and a converter performs a boost operation in accordance with an electric power control mode. If some kind of fault condition occurs in the power storage unit and the system relay is driven to an OFF state, the converters stop the voltage conversion operation and maintain an electrically conducting state between the power storage units and a main positive bus, a main negative bus.

Power supply system and vehicle including the same, and method of controlling the same

In a drive system of an AC motor in which a motor current is feedback-controlled, a motor current command is produced in a normal operation according to a torque command value on an optimum efficiency characteristic line so as to select an optimum current phase maximizing an output torque with a constant motor current amplitude. Conversely, when the AC motor produces an excessively generated power exceeding a regeneratable power quantity of the AC motor, a consuming operation is performed for intentionally increasing the power loss in the AC motor. In the consuming operation, the motor current command is produced according to the torque command value on a loss increase characteristic line to change the current phase from the above optimum value. Thereby, the power loss in the AC motor can be increased to consume the surplus power without causing instability in the motor control.

A side airbag apparatus for vehicle has an airbag and an inflator. An upper chamber, a lower chamber, and an intermediate chamber are defined by a seam in the airbag. When the airbag is deployed, the upper chamber corresponds to a shoulder of an occupant, the lower chamber corresponds to a lumbar region of the occupant, and the intermediate chamber corresponds to a thorax of the occupant. The seam guides gas from the inflator to the upper and lower chambers such that the upper and lower chambers are substantially simultaneously inflated, and the intermediate chamber is inflated after a delay. The thickness of the intermediate chamber is less than the thicknesses of the upper and lower chambers. As a result, the occupant of the vehicle is effectively protected.
