A camera provided with an automatic focusing apparatus having a lens-driving device (40) to move a photographing lens (50) in the direction of an optical axis to a focal position on the basis of a distance information from a distance-measuring device, a lens-positioning device (30) to determine a position of stoppage of the photographing lens (50) moved in the direction of the optical axis, and one motor (60) driving the two devices (40) and (30). An automatic focusing method of detecting a distance to an object by a distance-measuring device, moving the photographing lens (50) in the direction of an optical axis on the basis of the information on the distance, determining a position of stoppage of the photographing lens (50) at the same time substantially, and stopping the photographing lens (50) at this position.

A light-shielding apparatus of a camera having a collapsible barrel provides a fixed cylindrical light-shielding member between a movable portion of the collapsible barrel and a frame of a camera body. The outer surface of the light-shielding fixed member can be overlapped with the movable portion.

Lens driving means in a camera

An automatic focusing camera having a driving mechanism for moving a taking lens on the basis of a signal provided by a distance measuring device. The lens position is controlling by a cam member capable of being turned stepwise in one direction about the optical axis of a taking lens by a pulse signal given by the distance measuring device. The driving mechanism has a light quantity controlling movable coil member and a taking lens driving and controlling movable coil member. Both the light quantity controlling movable coil member and the taking lens driving and controlling movable coil member are disposed within a gap and exposed to a common magnetic field.

An electromagnetically driven shutter device in which a first coil drives shutter blades to control an aperture and shutter time. A second coil controls the moving distance, that is maximum aperture, of the first coil by being located at a plurality of positions including its initial position.

Camera device

The invention describes a taking lens driving system using permanent magnets provided inside of the lens barrel. A plurality of movable coils surrond the circumference of the taking lens and are arranged so as to transverse the magnetic flux of the permanent magnets. At least one of the movable coil members drives the taking lens unit, while the other coils are used to the range of movement of the movable coil member.
